  1. I don't doubt that he's a great cyclist This is just really not his kind of race, especially in his current shape..there are easily 5 Colombians who are much more useful in this kind of race in my opinion.
  2. Not the best race for Verstappen today...at least until the last 15 laps, when he kept Raikkonen behind him (again ) in a really great way. German commentator said it was unfair if I read correctly, British commentator Brundle said it was "fair, but on the line" and I agree with that I really liked Verstappen's "I'm driving like a grandma" after 8 laps
  3. Quintana? I have no idea what on earth he would have to do in Ro to be honest Shop? Visit Cristo Redentor?
  4. I don't care about blue track to be honest...what I find the most important things when it comes to formalities are these: - Medal ceremonies right after the event, so the emotion is still there, the athletes are still tired instead of a day later when the emotion has passed - The same music for all ceremonies, so you really get this "Olympic feeling" with every ceremony - Medal ceremonies at the venue where the medals were won The clothes that the medal presenters are wearing...I couldn't care less
  5. In general, I don't know if I like this so much...I wish all medal ceremonies would be sort of formal. Not formal like without smiling of course, but formal in the sense that it's clear this is the big stage, not some funky hip-hop local street competition.
  6. I don't think any sport that was added in the last 30 years has less than 1000 fans
  7. Badminton federation as well if I'm not mistaken, although that's not so important seeing as Russia won't win a medal there anyway normally I do expect the Russian NOC to be banned, but I also expect most Russian athletes to be in Rio (under Olympic flag).
  8. I agree (also about not knowing how to write the Serbian's name, my keyboard doesn't have those letters ), but the question is whether or not the Romanian federation knew about it. It's possible - and I think that's what happened - that he tested positive at a competition a while back, and the positive result came back just now, after the Junior Worlds. In that case of course there's nothing the Romanian federation could have done, because you can't stop someone from competing when there is no positive test yet.
  9. I think it's because of the way you have reacted to some positives from other nations (the Hungarians, for example). Anyway, let's all try and treat every situation like this, no matter if they are from Romania, Hungary, the Netherlands or whatever
  10. As far as I see, the Korean was simply next in line in the APB rankings, through which the Frenchman got his quota. So, the quota got allocated to the next deserving athlete and it has quite literally 0% to do with universality.
  11. A-sample was positive, meaning he should be provisionally suspended and probably he is. B-sample will most likely be positive (only in extremely rare cases the B-sample comes back negative), and then he should get the real ban. Until then, he's a suspected athlete, not a convicted doper yet, but someone who will most likely be a convicted doper quite soon. It's really that simple
  12. But apparently the other drivers (Bottas, as always, and another one) were like 5 seconds ahead of him when he crossed the finish line, so that's really just his mistake..
  13. It's quite incredible that Rosberg didn't lose his lap time because of basically ignoring the yellow flags..it's waiting for Bianchi all over again. Verstappen was unlucky, or better, made a dumb mistake getting over the line literally half a second too late to have another lap (he could have challenged for the front row if he was one second earlier, given that the track was still getting more dry so he would have had an advantage).
  14. 10 or 15 years ago they would not have gone with these conditions of today neither They can and still do race with wet weather, but they are a bit more cautious since Jules Bianchi's fatal accident which is not a bad thing I think. During the race we normally don't see red flags for rain unless it's really extreme (like today)...the only problem I have is with staying so long after the SC at the start, like some weeks ago...at some point it was clear that racing was possible. Although then again, 21 of the 22 cars would not have seen anything because of the spray and that just makes it incredibly dangerous as well.
  15. Racing in rain is definitely possible, and should keep happening. The problem was that today it wasn't just some rain. It was a horrendous downpour, no race class would drive in that...not just F1.
  16. When they red flagged the session at first, yeah, it was simply undrivable
  17. Mollema on the attack
  18. Looks like Aru forgot to eat and gets "hit by the hunger" now, that could cost him many minutes..
  19. Well to be fair, there's "rainy conditions" and there is "oceans falling down on the race track"
  20. Some team building going on at Tinkoff.
  21. Dutch commentator: "If someone comes into my commentator booth at the moment it's gonna be very awkward, because there's two women on their knees in front of my chair." (drying the floor)
  22. It's a little rainy at the Hungaroring.....most commentator positions have been flooded
  23. Aaand we're live and on the way
