  1. Can I chose "A and a half"? I'm mostly between A and B and really can't decide Both are fine for me..
  2. I want to see more two-headed shark attacks, stupid SyFy
  3. SyFy Channel has officially become unavailable in the Netherlands starting today There go my nights of watching the worst movies mankind ever made while laughing because they're so bad that they're funny
  4. Wow, Bora-Argon has set a huge step to becoming one of the leading teams in the cycling world: apparently they have signed both Peter Sagan and Rafal Majka and added a big millions of euros kind of sponsor to their team Of course Juraj will go with his big brother just like Slovaks Michael Kolar and Erik Baska.
  5. Alright, the Brazilians are travelling to Caviahue (Neuquén province) in Argentina today, where they'll have a 10-day IBU camp. Present for Brazil will of course be the girls Bruna Moura and Gabi Neres, but the (in my opinion) awesome news is that young cross-country skiers Altaïr Firmino and Lucas Martins will join them Altaïr Firmino 16 years, he'll be 17 in October. His highlight was of course participating in the Winter Youth Olympics earlier this year in Lillehammer, where he beat a Hungarian, Danish, Croatian, Turkish, Mongolian and Chilean athlete in the cross-country cross qualifications. In cross-country and rollerskiing competitions he has already very clearly beaten both Fabrizio Bourguignon and Leandro Lutz, two of the 'first generation' of Brazilian biathletes. Lucas 'Luquinhas' Martins 17 years, he''ll be 18 in November. Just like Altaïr he was among the group of young skiers travelling to Ushuaia (Argentina) one year ago, to make his debut on snow. He was 'fighting' with Altaïr last season to decide who would get the ticket for the Youth Olympics, but losing that fight of course won't stop him going for his goals As I understood it, both are planning to start picking up biathlon, but not entirely make a 100% switch away from cross-country skiing. At least for the next couple of years they'll likely do both, like most Brazilian biathletes do. Nonetheless, it is the plan that they will eventually start in IBU Cups and I guess (though that wasn't confirmed to me, so it's mostly speculation) we might see them in youth/junior world championships as well within the next few years. New male Brazilian biathlon blood, vamos
  6. I totally agree with you when I'm going through results of US meets. The entire world uses centimeters and meters, but somehow the Americans must use inches and feet and whatever. It's like they don't want to accept that they're actually not really different than the rest of the world...at least in athletics.
  7. Holy shit That's also just one centimeter away from the top-10 athletes of all time
  8. Cammile Adams (2nd at 200 fly at last year's world champs) got disqualified in the heats in Omaha However, she protested and she got her place in the semis back, kicking Vanessa Krause out.
  9. "Hello gold medal", as I read someone saying on a Dutch forum after posting the Brazilian selection
  10. Seriously, I just noticed now that Sansa (or well, the actress ) is your avatar
  11. Cool, he has lived in the Netherlands from 1993 until April of this year when he got in very serious financial trouble with the tax services. They took two of his trucks to sell and he had a huge debt of several tens of thousands of euros.. Ncie to see he can at least still go to the Olympics
  12. It's not like Phelps is a magical wild card in the 200 free Although I agree USA is the favourite of course, I wouldn't say they're untouchable. I'd say they have like 50-55% chance to win the gold.
  13. Just as untouchable as one year ago at the World Championships?
  14. It could be a case of FEI making an administrative mistake as well?
  15. Sally Pearson is apparently injured again (hamstring) and will miss the Olympics http://www.supersport.com/athletics/article.aspx?Id=3593814
  16. Scott Brash (GBR) will miss the Olympics since both of his horses are injured. http://www.bbc.com/sport/olympics/36657950
  17. Coubertin would ban women from the Olympics too if it were up to him, so I doubt we should take his thoughts too serious nowadays
  18. Me I won't post spoilers here, but man, it was awesome, the last two episodes were some of the best episodes I have ever seen in any series
  19. Because not every country thinks "Oh alright, you might not have a realistic chance to get a top-20 result, but come on, have fun!" I can accept countries wanting their athletes to show a certain capability to at least get close to the top spots, which the international standards usually don't require.
  20. Oh no, that's a seriously tough group for Kenya
  21. It's interesting that the strongest of the nations with less inhabitants only want top competitors at the Olympics and only want Olympians who actually really deserve it, unlike the real powerhouses who simply want to have as many people as possible to refer to as "Olympian" in their media
  22. +1 for us? I'm fairly sure you can give that to the next nation because Terpstra didn't qualify unfortunately.
  23. Dutch swimmers will have their last chances to qualify next weekend, after that I'm expecting the team to be announced within days.
  24. And that's Jason Day out of the Olympics as well, "because of Zika".
