  1. Alright, let's go Slovakia
  2. And another leader with 4 misses
  3. Very annoying that they don't show the number of misses in the pursuit
  4. I only woke up 6:45 today, decided not to watch the first run of the slalom and the start of the nordic combined
  5. Wow...just wow...Vishnevskaya far away in the lead in the pursuit, but then shot standing in the second shooting bout instead of prone
  6. Zueva has broken Andrea Ehrig-Mitscherlich's 1986 track record (set in the last weekend where world records were skated in Medeo)
  7. Zueva is seriously destroying the competition in the 5k
  8. Eurosport will be live at the biathlon pursuits (M/W) and the second run of the giant slalom, so I can watch Canada - Slovakia on the stream and me and @hckosice are going to cheer Slovakia to a sensational win
  9. Excellent program on livefisu.tv tomorrow morning
  10. Found a photo of my second favourite team Judging by the KPN sponsoring on their clothes, this is only the speed skating team by the way
  11. Andrei Grivko (Astana) has been kicked out of the Dubai Tour after punching Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) in the face during the fighting for echelons in today's stage
  12. I'm not very familiar with the history of Serbian biathlon, but isn't it possible she already is Serbia's best ever female athlete? I know she's of course no Milanko Petrovic or something yet, but I really can't think of any female biathlete from Serbia (apart from Sinanovic, Hasimovic, Zekic etc, who lose about an hour in a 20 minute race as a matter of speech) And what makes Drndic even more impressive: it's not like she got a good result purely from good shooting...she also had the 31st skiing time!
  13. Team USA is hosting an invitation-only dinner at the moment, somewhere far outside the Athletes Village. Interesting that they invited a tiny team like Brazil while many others aren't there
  14. The coach of Finnish skier Nea Luukko went to a bar and drank some coffee with the Belarussian coach, where they got talking about the rules for skis. After that, the Finnish coach decided to check Luukko's skis, just to make things sure, and discovered they didn't meet the requirements The next day she won a silver medal, instead of being disqualified for having wrong skis https://almaty2017.com/media/blogs/2017/02/01/vstrecha-v-bare-pomogla-finskoj-gornolyizhnicze-vyiigrat-«serebro»/
  15. Did anyone already find some info on Swiss snowboarder Mario Suter and how he's doing?
  16. Me neither, since the Koreans and Japanese amongst others do have serious world class university athletes and we often don't
  17. Silver in the speed skating At least something
  18. The final with 3 Russians and 3 Kazakhs was entertaining as well, especially with a Kazakh winning
  19. Sprint QF's have started, I'm cheering for Anastasia Maingardt now, she's become good friends with Bruna in the past days
  20. Weird and somewhat scary looking fall for Suter in the men's small final..especially since he's been there forever and taken away on stretcher. He fell on his neck or something, so I hope it's not too bad..
  21. is out
  22. A 33-year old volunteer collapsed and died at the ski jumping Tuesday https://almaty2017.com/media/news/2017/02/01/kollektiv-direkczii-universiadyi-pochtil-minutoj-molchaniya-pamyat-ushedshego-iz-zhizni-kollegi/
  23. https://almaty2017.com/media/news/ Apparently the winner of the women's 3000m speed skating event (a sort of well-known World Cup-level athlete) is also a biathlete Well, or Almaty2017 is wrong of course, which seems slightly more likely
  24. Wow, that was a painful finish for Takahara
  25. Yeremin taking the bronze And Chavoutier with the biggest disappointment of his athletic life probably.
