  1. This boxing situation might actually escalate into the entire Paris Olympics being cancelled. In fact, that is extremely likely!
  2. Lol, AS Roma getting a penalty because their opponent didn't sew his arm against his body (because that would be the only way to hold it closer to one's body). Luckily Pellegrini misses, so some justice there
  3. Happy Easter and enjoy the tasty things and free day if you have it
  4. Anyhow, very much deserved win for VdP, basically the only rider to constantly attack from early on (although Van Aert had two good moments as well). Always +1 for attacking riders taking the win
  5. Yeah, Philipsen might take care to not celebrate his 2nd place too hard yet
  6. Philipsen bringing down Degenkolb, Van Aert reacts by attacking, Van der Poel follows and sees Van Aert getting a flat tyre. That was some super intense Carrefour as always, but it's most likely done now.
  7. Van der Poel opening up the final push after Orchies!
  8. Jasna + no Zagreb (nothing against Zagreb, but the snow issues there....) + no more parallel.....FIS is getting some good ideas suddenly Well, you know, except for the finals. I think they've already typed the "Saalbach is cancelled" news item so they can save some time in March 2024
  9. 20km of potentially a bit calmer racing, chance to quickly get something to drink and a snack maybe without missing something Then we go into the final push starting with Orchies and Mons-en-Pévèle
  10. Right, the total chaos of the Forest is done, time to make up the damages and get a bit of breath 90km to go and it feels like it's already been the final 20km for a while. Pedersen with a move to the front group, where they refused the chance to torture Pedersen a bit...not smart.
  11. And Laporte with a flat tyre at the end. Almost made it.
  12. And there you go, the exact reason why Van Aert, Van der Poel, Küng wanted to be gone from the peloton Van Baarle, last year's winner, is down in the Forest.
  13. Van Aert and Laporte stepping on the gas, holy smokes. Degenkolb, Van der Poel and Küng (?) basically crying in their wheel begging for air Didn't expect this before the Forest! Oh and 19-year old Madis Mihkels manages to hang on
  14. US conservatives being US conservatives. Luckily their leader down in Arkansas, you know, the governor, has her priorities in order.
  15. Yeah, social media is a thing that has plenty of good stuff to offer, but you do need to be picky in choosing what to follow and what not For major and quick-moving news events, for example, it's often the number one way of gaining information rapidly instead of waiting for the news on TV three hours later.
  16. Oh well, maybe Jake Paul is a massive fan of the Adelskalendern and will finally convince her to do a 5k for the sake of that!
  17. And rewatch of, say, the previous season is available? In that case, I know what to spend my free afternoon on tomorrow
  18. Same here but with electric bikes, which on one hand is a great way for especially older people and otherwise physically less strong people*, but many of those same old people use them to race around at 20-25 kilometers per hour, which is a speed nobody expects a regular 85-year old to get to on a bike...resulting in a lot of accidents. Plus often they have some balance issues by then, so they're not always going in a decently straight line. *also more and more children are using them to get to school, even if they only live 5-10km away or so. Which isn't great, nearly the last time I was in good shape was when I still had to cycle 10k to and 10k from school five times a week for six years, but on an electric bike that's not going to do much
  19. Cool, taekwondo is already fun because of nations winning rare medals, so this could be even more of a nicely mixed medal table
  20. @phelps I've got some bad news for you buddy. Jutta Leerdam has confirmed the rumours of last week are true and she's in a relationship with.....Jake Paul, some YouTube guy who is mostly known for being....well, a bit of an uncivilized fellow, so to say. The chapter 'Controversies and legal issues' on his Wikipedia is almost longer than the rest, which should probably tell you enough about the kind of character this is
  21. To be fair, sports that need the Olympic status to be a competitive sport might need to take a good hard look at themselves (and yes, I know that'll be a majority of sports)
  22. Does it still exist? I know a few years back there was the pretty big Red Bull sponsored series, but I haven't heard much of it the past 2-3 years or so...which is sad, because yeah it's absolutely awesome and would be a fantastic addition (although the main issue is/was it being of course basically entirely Red Bull guided, which isn't great for Olympic inclusion one can imagine)
  23. To be fair, natural track luge is even less competitive and more super obscure than artificial track luge Artificial track luge already looks sort of silly to a majority of people, especially doubles is something nobody outside of the small community of luge enthousiasts (like myself, I love it) can take seriously and is usually the butt of all kinds of jokes. Try getting non-luge enthousiasts warmed up for natural track luge, which to the masses looks even more like regular people sliding for fun Not to be negative about the sport myself, I have no problems with it, but where the general masses already ignore artificial track luge, I can only see that be even worse for natural track (outside of the one or two strongholds in the world). Personally I'd be fine with having both, btw.
  24. Right, I think I got confused with Mohoric in my memory
