  1. Right, here we go! Let's mess those Gibraltarese up real bad! I'm thinking this could be 2-0 at the very least
  2. And of course again now it'll be full with nonsense like "There should be better security at schools", "the gates weren't high enough" or "why didn't the teachers have guns?1", like with many of those previous school shootings.....as if schools having iron gates for security isn't ridiculous enough by itself
  3. I know it's a little late now, but... How on earth is that even possible? The eligibility criteria are just 'tested' at some random moment during the event, not to see if you are allowed to start, but to see if you were allowed to start?
  4. The auto-translated website says this athlete is a 'superstar' and won a junior world championships medal, but this athlete is nowhere on the IBU database? This German article also mentions a silver at the 2021 junior worlds....but the actual results of the 2021 junior worlds show absolutely nothing with his name... https://www.focus.de/sport/eivind-sporaland-norwegischer-geheimdienst-sucht-nach-vermisstem-biathlon-star-22_id_189379106.html I'm starting to wonder, may they be mentioning the wrong sport or something? There is nobody with a name remotely close to this who got a world junior/youth medal since 2016...
  5. Damn. Seriously one of the scariest things in life, together with bullshit like heart attacks, aneurysms and such....stuff that can take a seemingly totally healthy person out in an instant.
  6. Whereas meanwhile Gibraltar tomorrow will have a unique chance for a historic win. Hopefully the Dutch team can at least get a point
  7. Cambridge takes it in some rough water. Oxford was a length behind but their focus was mostly on Felix Drinkall, who sort of collapsed right after the finish. Oxford quickly made it to the side where he was helped off, now it's a matter of hoping he'll be fine.
  8. Ironically, Oliveira has been declared fit, whereas Marquez might well miss the next race due to a hand injury sustained in this move.
  9. Marquez needs to be taken out of MotoGP by now. It's truly a shame, because in terms of raw talent he is obviously amazing beyond words, but ever since his injuries all he does is go around like a raging bull, dropping others left and right with - as you described - total bonehead moves. It's really a shame, but this can't go on or else we'll end up with worse than a bruised Oliveira. And Kelso....yeah. For those who've seen That 70's Show, I guess it's in the name
  10. Maybe 64 teams then Which would actually be a significantly better idea than 48, since an event like this really should have a number of participants like 16, 32 or 64. It would definitely not be great, but better than the very difficult 48.
  11. Freestyle skiing - 2021 world championships aerials bronze medalist (and mixed team world champion) Pavel Krotov of Russia has died, aged 30 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Krotov They specifically say the cause of death is not made public, which sadly does of course suggest something, generally speaking. https://sport.rambler.ru/winter/50442862-umer-chempion-mira-2021-goda-fristaylist-pavel-krotov/
  12. Maybe having 48 teams in the World Cup could help solve that, but that would of course be a ridiculous amount Oh wait.
  13. 2:37.44 world record for Kimberley Garcia Leon. Local commentator seemed a little enthousiastic, announcing the record when she hadn't crossed the line yet, she only had one second left to break it But Leon having the WR in Dudinska sounds a hell of a lot better than Nikiforova setting it in Chelyabinsk, considering the reputation of Russian race walking
  14. Also against Sweden? What's with Sweden and scoring super fast multiple goals, considering the last time the Netherlands had such a fast 3-0 deficit was also against them? (in 1919)
  15. Since it's basically ice hockey and we destroyed those Slovaks, we demand a spot in the Olympic ice hockey tournament! @hckoĆĄice
  16. Oh damn, I was all excited for a 50k today, but even the Dudinska has been killed off thanks to World Athletics' nonsense? Well, I guess I'll still turn it on for a bit anyway, strong rain and cold is after all perfect weather for (watching) a race like this, and the start list does indeed look excellent
  17. Depay missing a penalty (including a rebound) in the 94th minute, to possibly save a bit of theoretical honor, is really the most fitting end to this evening Gibraltar is going to be tough Monday.
  18. Sure, but like I mentioned earlier, I highly doubt I have the skills to be financially independent early enough to go for an early retirement
  19. And that's 3 Are they trying to honour Just Fontaine by scoring his amount of World Cup goals today? Apparently this is the fastest 3-0 deficit the Netherlands has had since a match against Sweden 1919
  20. And France leads with the same numbers, only took them 4 minutes longer against the marvelous Dutch
  21. Exactly, I'd riot to get the pension age to a super nice 64 (ok I wouldn't actually riot, because that always ends up destroying the stuff of regular people who have nothing to do with it, like shown again and again in Paris, but still)
  22. It is not the easiest of discussions though, especially since online there's also a lot of people who seem to think "I am not 100% sure I totally agree with all athletes from Russia and Belarus being banned from all sports, even under neutral flags" equates to "I am mostly on Russia's side in this war". I am personally not totally sure every single Russian and Belarussian athlete should be banned from competing even under neutral flags or something (I'm also not totally sure they should be allowed to compete under neutral flags, but I'm absolutely fine with people who are totally in favour of a full ban), but I am as much against Russia in their war of aggression as I would have been against, say, Nazi Germany.
  23. No worries buddy, Slovakia is still the bookmaker's favourite to beat Luxembourg (roughly 60% chance or so)
