  1. Kittel didn't finish, so that's not a good comparison I still have nightmares about those WCh's, Tom Leezer of all places was so freaking close to an absolutely insane win there (imagine the world champion riding around all 2017 carrying water bottles for the big riders in the team )
  2. Well...the formation of this lead group didn't take long Race director waved the flag to show the start, and literally 1 second later Mohoric attacked, 5 seconds later Brutt, Van Zyl and Albanese joined him and within 10 seconds the lead group was gone and away
  3. In a flat sprint where it's mostly about pure top speed, absolutely (not just Kittel by the way)
  4. Second in stage 1 behind Kittel, but the 3rd stage was a semi-uphill sprint finish so Kittel was far in the back and Sagan won (while Kristoff could not pass Rick Zabel by the way, interesting, since Zabel was supposed to be Kristoff's lead-out )
  5. Phil Gaimon and his buddies are pretty cool btw, running around dressed in giant cookies on all the big climbs
  6. Nice race on Mt Baldy Talansky wins in the only race in which he can perform well, finally Cannondale has a WT win again
  7. I know, but come on, you really need to search out some of the most clear dopers? Next thing you know he's knocking on Riccardo Ricco's door for some advice on how to prepare for a Grand Tour These things make cycling so deliciously 'scandalous', all these dopers still playing roles in advising people, and all kinds of suspicious doctors and team members from Sky to Katusha and Astana and Quick-Step and whatnot
  8. Wright, what the fuck.
  9. Even Lakeside is not so quiet as the O2 Arena is today.
  10. It's a tiny bit of collapsing, but mostly it's Van Gerwen suddenly smashing trebles like a madman.
  11. 8-8, what a match And still the audience is barely even responding. Hopefully next year the final is somewhere else..
  12. Are people in the O2 Arena asleep today or something? It's so quiet and boring there all evening
  13. Today is by far the best stage in California, the by now well-known mountain finish on Mt Baldy Go Sam Oomen
  14. Nice win for Gaviria
  15. I wish those fractures were important... (that would mean there are no worse things to focus on, which there of course are now.. ) Nothing good coming out of all this so far.
  16. That was a weird match
  17. Apparently Davide Formolo takes advice from Ivan Basso and Leonardo Piepoli about stuff like preparing for Grand Tours....
  18. Interesting, it's not often at all that all-athletics has that wrong I guess IAAF will go with what UAF says on that
  19. Isn't she 16/almost 17? http://www.all-athletics.com/en-us/node/1191033 Wonderful performance nonetheless, the only other junior at that kind of heights is Vashti Cunningham and she's 2 years older
  20. Nicky Hayden has been involved in a crash in Italy, while training by bike (not a motorbike) he was hit by a car. Apparently he's in a very serious, critical condition... Let's hope we won't get some terrible news within the next hours..
  21. This stage is already fantastic
  22. 137km to go and it's already absolutely mayhem in the peloton
  23. I'm expecting the likes of Fraile to go and attack and, if Nibali allows it (which is hard to say but I doubt it), Visconti seems like a very good candidate as well. And of course Rui Costa, in the region in which he so gloriously won his world title against the Spaniards
  24. Although Tratnik did get a 5 second time penalty because he profited hugely from Kiriyenka (nonetheless it was a really good performance, Tratnik has been showing himself well all year long so far!)
  25. 'Dumoulin has over two minutes of advantage on Quintana in the Giro, so it basically can't go wrong anymore right?' 1. Steven Kruijswijk dominating the Giro d'Italia last year until, with no way anyone was going to beat him, he decided to take a dive in the snow. 2. Tom Dumoulin in the 19th stage of last year's Tour de France, going down thanks to Teklehamianot, resulting in an injury and huge doubts about his Olympic preparations (resulting in the somewhat disappointing silver instead of gold in Rio). 3. Bauke Mollema in the very same, horrific 19th stage of last year's Tour de France, being two stages away from a historic Dutch podium (he was in a strong 2nd place) before falling and dropping out of the top-10. 4. Annemiek van Vleuten on her way to Olympic gold and glory in Rio, before having her horrible fall of which she luckily recovered very well (and came back stronger than ever). Dutch cyclists are the masters of choking
