  1. I see the only motivation for them to wait - negotiations with NHL were undergo. But know they really do not so need russia anymore. Thus it would be wise to promote Slovakia direct to the Olympics. And it looks like after that a redraw of thr groups for the final qualification round will be needed with only 2 teams in one of the groups... And new host for that group will be needed... as well as 2 more teams. Yes, looks like a mess...
  2. Are there any rules which can be used to fill belarus spot in the hext round if IIHF will not allow them to compete? Will it be a team with the best rankings of the best second-placed team?
  3. I think Canada`s chances for team quoata are very strong. Today there was a big problen with ACRO-C. But fixing it is sure way to Olympics.
  4. Further details from russian journalists looking through the CAS descision: An interesting circumstance was noticed by representatives of the ISU. They checked the geography and found out: Kamila Valiyeva lives 200 meters from the training rink. At the same time, the grandfather drove two hours in one direction every day to drive her these 200 meters by car. Yes, yes, having heart problems and operations in the anamnesis. A funny detail: in the decision it is mentioned that Solovyev lived in «the village of Lukashenko». In fact, there is no such settlement in Russia. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency has decided as a result of the investigation that there is no evidence from Valieva that Gennady Solovyev exists at all. Gennady Solovyev is the name of her "granddad". But at the same time he ... is not her granddad according to the evidences.
  5. I am really suprised that Ukrainian duet did not withdraw from free program. It looked like the coaches gave up in the battle for team quota. But to be honest - our chances are really very low.
  6. Latest message from Ukrainian national federation: the quotas from will be (re)allocated by World Aqytics at the 24th of February.
  7. Difficulty for the free program. All the teams in 8 points. I do not know what difference in difficulty in free program really matters )
  8. FINA wrote that the best efforts would be made to ensure gender balance (if possible). So this distribution is as complicated as moon voyage.
  9. Noy only wikipedia. Italian federation congratulates girls with olympic quotas, if I am right w
  10. I am totally shocked. I am proud of our tem but at the same time sorry for Poland. Hope for semifinal and quota for Rzeszutek.
  11. New discipline - Marathon Diving )
  12. In my oppinion, it is also important text "12 highest placing athletes" but not "12 highest placing athletes among the non-qualified". So only the 12 finalists are taken into account at this stage. And a lot of them will have quotas from the previous events. Thus in real life no overquota (>136) is expected at the WC.
  13. Herojam slava! Thank you very much for your words and support. People from so many countries helped our athletes that I cannot mention all of them here without creating offtop (I think all the countries of forums members writing here). Ukrainians are very grateful for this support. And beeing specific on artisitic swimming, our team got a great support from LEN, Italian national federation and Paolo Barelli personally. The entire team is grateful for the hospitality in Ostia in March 2022. Trainings in Ostia were invaluable for us. I wish Italian team to seal its ticket to Paris.
  14. The main (and truly the only proper) sport base for artistic swimming in Ukraine was situated in Kharkiv. Kharkiv is under a heavy shelling from russians from the very beginning of the war. The national team was evacuated to Kyiv, basin in Kharkiv was hit by russians and its heating system (icluding hot water supply) was desroyed. In Kyiv they have to share basin with the divers and do not have the same number of working hours as in their own basin. So, its a pity but their mistakes have external reason named 'russia' and it is not not their fault. I hope in team event Ukraine will win its license. This girls really deserve it.
  15. Thank you! So it will be a long battle ) Ukraine is highly focused on Olympic qualification and is going to miss a lot "non-qualification" events both in artistic swimming and diving.
  16. And do you know what results counts for the Olympic qualification?
  17. Recent interviews from russia suggests that all the national team rejected participation in the Olympic games under the white flag. It does not mean for sure that they will not send boxers to the qualifier but it looks probable at the moment.
  18. I hope an appeal will fix this. Or ISU will do it voluntary (looks like a miracle now).
  19. A very strange mathematics from ISU. https://isu.org/isu-news/news/145-news/14898-isu-statement-decision-of-cas-kamila-valieva-roc2?templateParam=15 Since Valieva is DSQ every nation below should get 1 more point. So Canada must get 9+9 instead of 8+8. That means 55 points and bronze medal in totoal for Canada.
  20. And it shows what a chaos in olympic qualification was brought by russian reinstatement. They stole chances of other wrestlers to win licenses at the World Championships. The licenses sholud be redistributed. It would be fair. Futhermore, if the "dumpsters" are not officially stripped of their "licenses" before the Olympic license tournaments russia will not be able to send another wrestlers in their weights to take part. UWW and IOC are "clever" as usual.
  21. I do not think so. Poland is safe enough. It looks like we can get quotas together. Standings before Vancouver
  22. Some good news from European Gymnastics. This continental body decided not to reinstate russian and belorussian athletes. So they will miss European Championships next year where the last quotas will be contented.
  23. She has not enough games at Billie-Jean Cup. But Ukrainian federation announced today that she is going to play against Roamnia next year. So it looks like she will get the quota herself.
  24. Svitolina said recently in the interview, that she talked about this legacy quoat and was told she would get it if needed. But she is going to play one more tounament for the national team next year before the Games. So she hopes she will need that legacy quota.
  25. That moment looked much more suspicious after the word spoken by the head of the UEFA before the game and strange decision of the referee not to go to watch the replay. Porentially dangerous free kick after the clear faul on Dovbyk was ignored too. I do not want to complain - that was a game of equal contenders. And draw is logical outcome in some way. But such an episode is reason to use VAR in football. If the referee did not use it I cannot imagine a fair reason. Thus it looks like we are getting closer to video challenges in football. So many sports successfully use them. I do not see any fair reason to avoid of this in football.
