  1. And it fits the single tweet, even allows to mention a few accounts too.
  2. Calling the other IOC members "the old farts" was more than accurate. Just the form was called inappropriate, but at least he said it honestly - which is extremely rare within the IOC.
  3. Calendar's full of them, am I right, Jeff? Jeff:
  4. OK, so the first thing about today's postponement - it's not the matter of Dakar/Senegal/Africa not being ready. It's mostly, I assume with 90% of being sure, about qualification systems: a) not ready yet b) not able to be ready due to a lot of job to bring back the whole sport to some normal level and Tokyo 2020 qualification being a priority c) even if ready, not able to realize in shorter period of time than expected before pandemic, also becuase of Tokyo 2020 priority. Then there are probably such things as in modern pentathlon, which was to introduce a new format for Dakar already - however no tests can be lead in 2020, there will be no Congress this year to adapt those changes even without testing (which nobody would be stupid enough to do) and it had to be done this year so that next year Dakar 2022 qualification would be held according to new rules. Then, the next thing about age range, also on the example of pentathlon: it's age category for YOG is Youth A aka 17-18 year olds. Of course, it does happen, that younger athletes do compete, but they are usually single cases - there might be a 15-year-old who can fence, but can they do it on the level at least some way equal to the 18-year-old? That's the example of Ewa Pydyszewska, who was starting in tetrathlon competition in Poland even as 15-year-old, so just starting her age of Youth B (triathle by rule). She was one of the poorest fencers in the field. Now, when she's 18 (in December) she did improve enough so that she is a leading youth A in Poland. I don't want to say that as she was 15-year-old her colleagues at the same age didn't train fencing, but they didn't show their lack of skills at the competition, starting in triathle category only. And the other point of view of age limit - as the qualification lasts for two years (well, maybe seasons is a better word in this case), you might find such athletes at Youth A Europeans/Worlds who will be 19 during YOG, aka not eligible to qualify. I think that's why there was a separate Qualifier for Buenos Aires in Caldas da Rainha except for Youth A Europeans being used for that (just compare the Italian girls team at these competitions - with Ludovica Montecchia in place of Elena Micheli, Youth A Worlds silver medalist and 4th at Youth A Europeans, for YOG qualifier).
  5. As Rod Stewart sang: "Some guys have all the luck, some guys have all the pain"
  6. It's always good to know, that even if in some point we are against death penalty even for pedophiles, themselves are not.
  7. As far as I can read out without translation, it's mostly about queue to the embassy/consulate by people on holiday in Croatia (quite a popular destination of Poles as they have a true sea instead of cold and dirty Baltic). EDIT: From the official statement - in Split there was about 6 hours (!) long queue at the moment of closing the voting. All of them are allowed to vote, consul stays at the end of the queue to control the thing.
  8. What's best, even when symbicort was legalized at a certain dose, Norway still needs TUE to use the over-legal dose... I do know how does about 10% of a dose legal (non-TUE) before legalizing symbicort (another medicine, but quite similar) works. If they do need TUE, they should have rather lungs transplanted than Olympic-level training.
  9. So, do you want to watch it in the group? Herzlich Wilkommen: https://discord.gg/zSZWb6 9 PM CST, 3 PM CET, 1 PM GMT, 9 AM EDT, 6 AM PST
  10. Hello there! Just to remind - today is the E5: Long Jump - 9 PM CET, 7 PM GMT, 3 PM EDT, High Noon in the Wild West (aka 12 PM PST). Once again together with @Olympian1010we'd like to try watching it together so here's the link to Discord once more. Just to remind two things: 1. The idea of our Discord channel is to watch and enjoy the events together, not to move the discussion outside the forum, so please, use it for the events time only. 2. The idea of our Discord channel is the voice channel, which some of you might have missed last week. Of course, you can simply join to listen to our discussions, that's not a problem. However, if you join also to share your point of view, please take care of the technical side, aka microphone. https://discord.gg/zSZWb6
  11. Is there a way to create a link to the first unread post in a certain topic?
  12. Monaco and South Africa in one group? What does HSH Princess Charlene say for this?
  13. Shouldn't it have something else in place of Olympic Rings? Like... a trumpet or guitar...
  14. I'm not sure if it was mentioned, but Junior Worlds also... which means tragedy for me on both fan and journalist point of view.
  15. Would need a dyscalculia to think about 1994 in case of a 20-year-old.
  16. It is something like 49,5 % of People, 49,5 % of China and somewhere about 1% of Republic. Although, there might be more of "of" than of Republic in that country.
  17. 8th place in Pyeongchang. Silver in Lillehammer.
  18. 4 DRS Zones might be not enough for Mugello.
