it's the new format for all the main FIVB beach volleyball tournaments... basically, in each group there are 2 semifinals and then the 3rd place (to determine the only eliminated team after the 1st phase) and 1st place (to determine the team jumping directly to the 1/8 finals) matches... meanwhile the losers of the 1st place match and the winners of the 3rd place match in each pool must go through to a 1/16 final round... one thing in favor of this format is that the pool pairings are not done with a pure draw, but they are formed through the teams' position in the FIVB ranking (best against worst in one match, the 2 "mid-ranked" teams in the other match-up)... still, I hope they won't use this format also at the Olympics...

Summer Olympic Games 2020 Qualification Systems
phelps replied to Mkbw50's topic in Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
I hope they don't...WSL surfers are by far the best in the world...so, I hope that they will be considered first...then, they can easily go to the lower quality ISA stuff (hoping that the most possible WSL guys would eventually really take part in those competitions)... because it's a good thing to see Countries like CRC, PER, POR and others having real shots at qualifying, but in a 20 starters field only we need the biggest number of top athletes to make a decent competition... -

Track Cycling UCI World Championships 2018

late afternoon sessions are avilable on BBC Red Button channel (free on satellite @ 28.2 East) and on BBC website (with VPN, I suppose)... most things go also on Eurosport 1 & 2 (always late afternoon session, of course...no early qualifiers)...they also said they would have all the world champs on their player, but I can only see the usual sessions, not this early afternoon stuff running right now... -
I meant that in those sports not affected by the Bosman rule, the various federations/leagues can still put a limitation on foreign players... I just wrote it down too quickly...

very sad and scary news... if 'ndrangheta have got their hands on Slovakia's main interests and got some kind of connection with their main political leaders, they don't even imagine what kind of tragedy could be for their Country... sooner or later they're gonna strangle any kind of activity where they have some interest...
