  8. DEL League Stats Köln Set New Audience European Record Die Kölner Haie welcomed an average of 16,993 spectators to the home games in the PENNY DEL 16,993! That's how many spectators attended the Kölner Haie's home games in the main round of the 2023/2024 PENNY DEL season. A new record. Not just for the KEC, but also for European ice hockey. The Haie only set the previous record, which meant a new German record, in the last 2022/2023 season. At that time, an average of 14,286 spectators (including playoffs) flocked to the KEC. In the current season, the Haie were able to clearly break their own record with over 2,700 more fans per game and thus 16,993 spectators per home game. A total of over 423,000 spectators have already attended the Haie's home games this season. The LANXESS Arena was sold out a total of six times this season; this had never happened before in almost 25 years of KEC in the Deutzer Arena. With these audience numbers, the Haie are the European ice hockey club crowd for the first time in 22 years. With an average of 16,993 spectators, the KEC replaces the Swiss top club SC Bern and is the crowd again in Europe for the first time since 2002. The Swiss, who held the attendance record for 22 years in a row, welcomed an average of 15,490 spectators per home game this season. With the strong attendance figures, the Haie also broke a European record. Not only did the Haie replace SCB as the spectator crowd, with 16,993 spectators per home game they also improved the Bernese European record of 16,399 visitors from the 2016/2017 season. If you compare the Sharks' spectator numbers with those of the North American NHL, the ice hockey league with the largest number of spectators in the world, it is noticeable that the KEC leaves some teams behind here too. More specifically, six NHL teams (Columbus, Buffalo, Anaheim, San Jose, Winnipeg and Arizona) have fewer visitors per game than the Sharks this season. PENNY DEL climbs to number 1 in Europe in terms of audience popularity An average of 7,160 fans come to the main round - more than ever before. This puts the league well above the previous record of 6,647 from the 2015/16 season - and at the same time has taken over the top position of all ice hockey leagues in Europe: it is the highest average attendance in the main round of all European leagues. The PENNY DEL has pushed the previous leader, the Swiss National League (average audience: 7,131), out of first place and is only behind the National Hockey League (NHL) among the ice hockey leagues worldwide. A total of almost 2.6 million spectators have come to the arenas of the 14 clubs this year.

  11. ops...I didn't go back to the previous page
  12. tbh, watching the replay more than once I never had the feeling that there was a touch on the helmet, it looked like the kick landed at least 10cm (if not more) from the head, right on the shoulder but it's still possible that I didn't see well the pictures (I was looking on a small cell phone screen)
  13. vs is the women's Gold Medal match meanwhile the men's Final act is vs for , 2 painful quarterfinal's losses (especially the men, Nicolai & Cottafava, who played a brilliant pool phase)
  14. Wayne Pinnock takes the world lead in the men's Long Jump with a 8.40 mark (indoor)
  15. the head shot they gave to win rd #1 wasn't even close to hitting the target, it landed on the shoulder I was just referring to that, as it happened exactly in the moment I was writing that post... however, it was the only controversial shot and finally the Bulgarian managed to lose it badly (for her soul) by herself (actually, she was just unlucky on the last hit)
  16. sorry, my mistake I thought there were 3 spots per weight, but of course I was wrong however, after beating Aydin, I'd be very, very upset if Matonti doesn't make it vs Bodèn
  17. if she misses the Olympic Quota, she has to be "gonfiata come una zampogna" she's just 1 win away and she has to face opponents that are not even close to Aydin, who she defeated in the quarterfinals and in case she loses to /, then the 3rd place match vs the loser of the other semi should be a joke or so (in the lower bracket only is a good fighter, even if they're trying to earn a shot in all possible ways )
  18. I don't agree at all in the Olympic Boxing, at least 30% of times (and I'm keeping myself strict) the winner of a bout is the wrong one. and it's not because most people don't know what the judges are looking at when their scores are shaped. and often, even when the score is correct/at least acceptable, among the 5 judges there's at least 1 that has watched another movie, whithout having those people thrown off the panel for the rest of their life
  19. Miho Takagi and Zhongyan Ning are the 2024 Sprint World Champions Takagi beat the duo Femke Kok (2nd) and Jutta Leerdam (3rd), meanwhile Zhongyan outskated Jenning De Boo and Laurent Dubreuil thanks to his superiority over the 1000m stints
  20. more "FINA OQTs" at the Italian Spring Nationals earlier Today men's 200m Backstroke, Matteo Restivo 1.56.83 (I think he already swam faster earlier in the OQP, though) and Thomas Ceccon 1.57.15 (winning the "B" Final, and he also have faster clockings in the OQP, but he's highly unlikely, almost impossible he's gonna swim the distance in Paris) in the men's 200m Free now we have 2 guys with the OQT (Filippo Megli and Alessandro Ragaini, both at 1.45.X high) I think both of them will compete in the Individual Race at the Olympics, even if Megli missed out the NF QT by 2/100 of a second Sara Curtis won the women's 50m Free with 24.63, which is once again below the OQT (also for our NF), but didn't improve the morning time (I'm a bit disappointed, I expected her to swim at least 24.4 this afternoon)
  21. yesss! back to the glory days of 2 years ago! actually, 2 years ago they posted all the games, but still...2 is better than nothing!
  22. all the Abu Dhabi races have been cancelled! https://www.triathlon.org/news/article/cancellation_of_wtcs_abu_dhabi_2024 this means that also and are now officially qualified to the Olympic Games in the Mixed Relay, since no more (useful) events are scheduled before the deadline of the OQP (March 25th)
  23. this week for me: Swimming (Italian Spring Nationals), Speedskating (Sprint and All-Round World Champs), Biathlon and Alpine Skiing World Cup events, Boxing and Taekwondo Olympic qualifiers and Fencing World Cup and we'll see if I can find some space for a bit of Hockey (NHL and European Leagues playoffs)?
  24. the score was 4-1 for the Italian...4 judges had a 28*-28 score (2 rounds -the first 2 rounds- to 1 for Charaabi, but she also got an official warning), the judge did watch something else and gave a 30-26 score for the Polish woman
