  1. given that they were running the 10km for the 2nd/3rd time in their career, it's not so surprising (even if Battocletti's time is quite impressive, as she considers herself more a 1500m/5000m specialist and doesn't like the 10k on the track so much)
  2. not sure she wants to run the 10k in Paris...she was talking about the 1500m, instead
  3. but on the verge of missing the most anticipated one Tamberi 2 errors at 2.29m
  4. just a 5km replay, I guess...hopefully
  5. might be a one sided show by the last km
  6. only 4 jumpers left in the men's HJ after 2.26m
  7. Italian endurance runners are allowed to wear white clothes because they attract less heat than the blue ones all the other athletes have to wear the official blue uniforms
  8. Fantini in the lead in the women's Hammer! but it's only the beginning of round #2
  9. Stefanidi! 4.73m at the first attempt
  10. Sito too many races in a short span... unfair rules stroke badly
  11. British moment incoming...Dobson in the men's 400m final and Caudery almost sure of a medal in the women's PV
  12. Caudery and Stefanidi however have jumped 4.68m, with the Greek leading because she did it at the first attempt and the British woman at the second...
  13. bad news for with Kaddari and Siragusa being so slow, our women's 4*100m relay doesn't stand a chance to repeat their great performance of last year's worlds it's a shame we have to wait 2+ years to see Doualla on the major stage
  14. thereìs a very annoying wind against the inrun for the pole vaulters...it's gonna be a disappointing competition with the medal winners at a very low height
  15. Williamson puts men's 4*100m Medley Relay on a different perspective... if the backstroke leg turns out to be somehow decent, I guess the US boys should start worrying (at least until their trials) for what concerns , now we can consider ourselves out of contention, since our fly leg is really too weak (unless Ponti suddenly switches to Italy )
  16. actually, all the guys falling down finished the race and they also got a place in the final (which will feature 15 runners) moreover, Nader not only finished the race, he did it in style in the top 6 who got the direct and legitimate quota the guy from was clearly injured, but still managed to end his race walking around in 4 mins and 38 secs, so, he's also in the final (even if I don't think he's able to run that race)
  17. https://jmp.sh/s/x5k7CERqHWQUMK1Xi7jU unfortunately, this link will expire in 24 hours from now ('cause I'm using the free version of this uploader) hope you can read this in time
  18. male sprinters, you should write and in any case, I mainly thought about race walkers and throwers, rather than jumpers surely, not male sprinters not longer distance runners
  19. unfortunately not... actually, funding for sports here in Italy is always less in some sports we've been lucky to find some good officials who really care about success rather than filling their pockets with money and powerful roles only Stefano Mei becoming NF president, in particular, changed many, many things in our athletics add this to a new generation of coaches who have been humble enough to go abroad (especially in the USA) to learn new training methods and open to use them instead of the old, surpassed methods of the past this is also what happened in swimming (another sport which wasn't on our radar before the end of the last Century, until the poor Alberto Castagnetti could start a new era for our swimmers -finding generational talents like Fioravanti, Rosolino and Pellegrini all together did help a lot, too) Sailing, Judo and Taekwondo are also among the NF working really well, having the advantage of a major increase of youngsters practicing the sport, which helps a lot to find new talents (it's hilarious that Judo and Wrestling are managed by the same federation, but Wrestling is and I fear will be for quite a long time irrelevant -despite a good tradition- because of lack of boys and girls enjoying the sport) other sports named above, actually already have a great tradition in Italy...in Track cycling for instance we're not even close to what we used to have until the late Sixties the main reason is the lack of infrastructure...hopefully now we're gonna have 1 (maybe in the next future 2) indoor velodromes with 250m track, which might help us to stay competitive in the next future (when a talent like Ganna won't be here anymore to make our team look stronger than it actually is) and however, the improvement in some disciplines doesn't mean that we're not experiencing a lot of troubles in sports where we used to get more than what we currently have to be satisfied with (men's Road Cycling, Rowing and Boxing, for instance) more in general, we've been lucky to find a good new generation of youngsters in the recent past and now we're enjoying them, but after Covid-19 period, we've lost a lot of boys and girls practicing any sport and we're not expecting a bright future in many disciplines which are so successful right now...we're already starting to see that trend in some sports, where we still have some promising talents, but a lot less than the recent years in terms of quantity p.s. not going to mention -not the right thread- that some of this year's medals here in Rome are also possible because of the absence of and , who have always been dominant in this sport (especially in some events) if they were here, we surely wouldn't have such an impressive medal table as it is right now
  20. team in Paris women's K1: Stefanie Horn women's C1: Marta Bertoncelli men's K1: Giovanni De Gennaro men's C1: Raffaello Ivaldi
