  6. and now? will our coaches take into consideration a possible switch between Gallo and Torre before Paris? or will they leave the new European Champion out of the individual event in the French Capital?
  7. men's Individual Sabre Gold: Michele Gallo Silver: Luca Curatoli Bronze: Luigi Samele & Jean-Philippe Patrice Semifinals Curatoli b. Samele 15-3 Gallo b. Patrice 15-6 Final Gallo b. Curatoli 15-10 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/4575-2023/results/

  9. in the men's Sabre quarterfinals we have 4x , 3x and 1x Luca Curatoli vs Maxime Pianfetti Luigi Samele vs George Dragomir Michele Gallo vs Bolade Apithy Jean-Philippe Patrice vs Sebastien Patrice so, we actually have 2 brothers facing each other with a medal up for grabs
  10. women's Foil semifinals Arianna Errigo vs Carolina Stutchbury Dariia Myroniuk vs Julia Walczyk-Klimaszyk
  11. Errigo on a class of her own... she easily beat Favaretto 15-9 and therefore she's through to the semifinals and has another medal guaranteed to her collection
  12. Italy men's LW Double Sculls Stefano Oppo Gabriel Soares men's Double Sculls Luca Rambaldi Matteo Sartori men's Pairs Davide Comini Giovanni Codato men's Quadruple Sculls Nicolò Carucci Andrea panizza Luca Chiumento Giacomo Gentili men's Fours Matteo Lodo Giovanni Abagnale Giuseppe Vicino Nicholas Kohl men's Eights Matteo Della Valle Jacopo Frigerio Emanuele Gaetani Liseo Salvatore Monfrecola Davide Verità Gennaro Di Mauro Leonardo Pietra Caprina Vincenzo Abbagnale Alessandra Faella (coxswain) women's Double Sculls Clara Guerra Stefania Gobbi women's Eights Giorgia Pelacchi Linda de Filippis Alice Gnatta Aisha Rocek Alice Codato Silvia Terrazzi Elisa Mondelli Veronica Bumbaca Emanuele Capponi (coxswain) Reserves Davide Mumolo (M) Alfonso Scalzone (M) Stefania Buttignon (W)
  13. Aron Szilagyi lost to Enver Yildirim in the second round of men's sabre and there's still one round left, but in the quarterfinals we might see a very rare brothers' affair between Jean-Philippe and Sebastien Patrice with a medal up for grabs
  14. however, it's obvious that we didn't prepare these championships properly, our guys are already fully focused on the Olympic events still, losing to average level opponents hurts
  15. gotta be realistic, those times will never come back... I'm happy to still be a true gold medal candidate in every major competition, both individual and team's
  16. how to avoid an Italian clean sweep in women's Foil...just put Errigo and Favaretto in order to face each other in the quarterfinals, then possibly add the 4th Italian in the same quarter of the brackets...and you're guaranteed some new, unexpected gal in the medal rounds not that we have a truly balanced bracket also in the men's Sabre...Sandro Bazadze, Aron Szilagyi and Gigi Samele all in the same quarter
  17. Paolo Barelli is way more respected than that idiot nowadays in charge of LEN Acquatics the Settecolli meet is the oldest of its kind in Europe, this year it's the 60th anniversary and the Italian Federation has done a lot to promote and protect their Crown Jewel unfortunately, LEN just wanted to make a war against Barelli (who's the former president and has been for a very, very long while...getting swimming way more popular in Europe in the last 20 years at least) and they even scheduled this year's European Championship in this month in sign of disrespect, when in the Olympic years it's always been scheduled in April or max at the beginning of May the consequence of this stupid behaviour by Costa and his accolades is there to be seen
  18. men's Individual Foil Gold: Tommaso Marini Silver: Alessio Foconi Bronze: Maxime Pauty & Alexander Choupenitch Semifinals Foconi b. Pauty 15-7 Marini b. Choupenitch 15-11 Final Marini b. Foconi 15-4 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/4571-2023/results/

  20. Day #2 Finals women's 200m Backstroke Camila Rebelo, 2.08.95 Dora Molnar, 2.09.02 Eszter Szabo-Feltothy, 2.09.21 men's 50m Fly Stergios Marios Bilas, 23.15 Simon Bucher, 23.19 Daniel Gracik, 23.26 women's 100m Freestyle Barbora Seemanova, 53.50 Barbora Janickova, 54.17 Nikolett Padar, 54.22 men's 100m Breaststroke Melvin Athohame Michael Imoudou, 58.84 Berkay Omer Ogretir, 59.23 Andrius Sidlauskas, 59.27 women's 800m Freestyle Ajna Kesely, 8.29.96 Fleur Lewis, 8.33.54 Deniz Ertan, 8.34.31 mixed 4*100m Medley Relay 3.45.74 3.48.12 3.48.79
  21. unlucky draw and disappointing performances plagued the Italian team... in the women's Epee, Santuccio and Rizzi had to face each other in the round of 16, meanwhile Navarria and Fiamingo were eliminated in the early rounds (in particular, Fiamingo got humiliated by Vitalis by a score of 15-3 after a truly irritating match) in the men's Foil, 3 guys are still in contention for the medals (and there's no internal affair match in the quarters, so they could all of them get a medal) on the other hand, Macchi lost badly in the round of 16 vs Choupenitch...he was leading 11-8 and then had a blackout and took 4 consecutive hits in very few seconds...finally, he tried to comeback from 12-14 down, but a pair of bad ref calls -and unfair behaviour by the Czech guy not punished as it should have been- sealed the deal for Choupenitch and left Macchi empty handed)
  22. women's semifinals Angeline Favre vs Auriane Mallo-Breton Alberta Santuccio vs Irina Embrich
