  3. actually, there are a lot of tracks, but they are all 400m outdoor tracks however, now Montichiari is working for the elite groups training so, no excuse the real problem is that all the guys want to ride on the road, track cycling is just plan B (if not C) because there are no full time track clubs (and among the men the always present military corpse just don't pay enough, even compared to a C class road team)
  4. unfortunately, it's not because of that...😭
  5. Dostal, Vejmelka and Vladar (if he plays enough in the nhl, otherwise it might be better someone like Hrubec)
  8. surely the technological aspect must not be forgotten, but Predomo is just not competitive at all among the seniors, he's regularly outside the top 25 in the 200m qualifying round and he doesn't look to be taken into too much consideration for the keirin races basically, he's just doing the team sprint (wasted time, a medal is just outside our chances...OK, it's needed for olympic qualification purpose, but it shouldn't be the main focus) I don't know if he can (and want) still make a major step towards world excellence or just be another big "what if" he doesn't have the perfect skills for those races, and he would need a lot of experience to learn to race that kind of event Wiebes yesterday just showed how it doesn't matter how talented you are, if you don't have enough experience the point race and even more the Madison race don't forgive anybody Sierra and Consonni (and in the future, Stella) are the men for those events; Milan should be the heart of the team pursuit and the man for the road race (if LA 2028 will really have a sprinter-friendly course) p.s. the women can't be compared to the men, the competition level is just different
  9. it's raining world records in Toronto! on Friday, Molly O'Callaghan wrote history in the women's 200m free, improving her own one-week young WR up to 1.49.36 on Saturday, no less than 6 new world records were established in the Canadian pool it all started with Hubert Koss swimming an unbelievable 48.16 in the men's 100m backstroke then, it was time for Lani Pallister to set a new mark over the women's 800m free (7.54.00, cancelling Katie Ledecky's record by 3.5 secs), followed by the usual show by Gretchen Walsh, who swam 55.10 over her beloved 100m fly the 4th record was set by Kaylee McKeown in the women's 200m backstroke, improving her own mark up to 1.57.33 the new world record number #5 came in the men's 200m breaststroke, where Caspar Corbeau became the first man to swim the distance below the 2-min mark (1.59.52). In the same race, Shin Ohashi was 2nd and established the new junior world record in 2.02.03 finally, the icing on the cake: Kate Douglass became the first woman in history to swim the ladies' 100m free below the 50-sec mark, covering the distance in 49.93 p.s. check that pool! it must be shorter than 25m...there can't be so many WRs in an early season meet
  10. a big, painful flop so far... just couldn't keep up with the pace in the transition between juniors and seniors, like many Italians usually do let's see if we can waste also Matilde Cenci's talent 😤
  11. Day #3 women's -73kg Gold: Sarah Chaari Silver: Kimi Laurene Ossin (not yet 17 and she's Italian, lives in , but she can't compete for us -at least until she gets 18- because of a stupid law) Bronze: Sude Yaren Uzuncavdar & Zhou Zeqi men's -54kg Gold: Seo Eun Su Silver: Furkan Ubeyde Camoglu Bronze: Jakhongir Khudayberdiev & Aristeidis Nikolaos Psarros men's -87kg Gold: Seif Eissa Silver: Simone Alessio Bronze: Artem Harbar & Szymon Piatkowski
  12. Day #2 women's -49kg Gold: Liu You-Yun Silver: Elif Sude Akgül Bronze: Nodira Akhmedova & Supharada Ateşli men's -63kg Gold: Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi Silver: Mahdi Hajimousaei Bronze: Mahmoud Altaryreh & Jang Jun
  19. Hanwha Eagles defeated Samsung Lions 11-2 in game #5 of the KBO Playoff and advance to the Korean Series for the first time since 2006 (they only won 1 KS out of 6 appearances so far, in 1999) they will face the RS champions, the LG Twins Seoul (KS champions in 2023, more recently) the 2025 Korean Series (best-of-7 series, 2-3-2 scheme) start on Sunday, October 26th @ 2 p.m. local time (6 a.m. CET, 1 a.m. ET in North America) in Seoul game #2 is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27th (6.30 p.m. local), also in Seoul; meanwhile the games 3-4-5 will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 29th, Thursday, Oct. 30th and, if necessary, Friday, Oct. 31st in Daejeon (always @ 6.30 p.m. local time) if necessary, the series will go back to Seoul for the games 6 and 7, which are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2nd (2 p.m. local) and Monday, Nov. 3rd (6.30 p.m. local) rainouts and changes to the schedule are always possible, as both teams play in outdoor stadiums
  20. day #1 of the Toronto stage and already 2 new world records! Hubert Kos improved Mitchell Larkin's previous mark in the men's 200m backstroke by half a second, swimming the distance in 1.45.12 Home favourite Josh Liendo, instead, is the new world record holder over the men's 100m fly, after swimming an amazing 47.68 and dethronizing Noè Ponti Lani Pallister almost got to Summer McIntosh's world record in the women's 400m free, stopping the clock at 3.51.87, only 1.5 secs behind the Canadian superstar (not participating to this event due to illness)
  21. Day #1 women's -57kg Gold: Maria Clara Pacheco Silver: Kim Yu-Jin Bronze: Luo Zhongshi & Fadia Khirfan men's +87kg Gold: Kang Sang Hyun Silver: Rafail Aiukaev Bronze: Caden Cunnigham & Jonathan Healy
  22. dimenticato di prendere le pasticche? 😈🙄
