  1. men's Foil, semis (later Today): Cheung Ka Long vs Tommaso Marini Enzo Lefort vs Nick Itkin only 1 medal for Italy...even if Marini wins gold, this tournament is already a big failure for us...
  2. women's Sabre, semis (later Today): Misaki Emura vs Araceli Navarro Anna Bashta vs Despina Georgiadou
  3. the individual events today are very late, really behind schedule... I wonder if the final session is going to start later than expected? p.s. quite a good number of surprising results so far in the women's sabre (but the top 2 seeds are still there and looking good)...and of course the Italians are all out by the round of 16...
  4. women's Team Epee, quarterfinals (Tomorrow): South Korea vs Hong Kong Poland vs USA Ukraine vs France Italy vs Switzerland
  5. so, also this world cup stage is over... but in a week's time, the shotgun specialists are already on stage for their next world cup event in Almaty... see you there...
  6. Mixed Team Skeet Gold: Great Britain 1 (Amber Hill & Ben Llewellyn) Silver: Italy 1 (Chiara Di Marziantonio & Niccolò Sodi) Bronze: Italy 2 (Simona Scocchetti & Giancarlo Tazza) and France 1 (Lucie Anastassiou & Nicolas Lejeune) Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16713 men's Team 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Gold: Czech Republic Silver: India Bronze: South Korea Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16712
  7. in the first round of the men's Individual Foil, Giorgio Avola lot to Augusto Antonio Servello...
  8. and Martina Criscio won against Olga Kharlan in the second round of the women's Individual Sabre... unfortunately, she has to face the no.2 seed Anna Bashta in the next round...
  9. women's Team Epee with some results not exactly according to plan... Ukraine defeated the Olympic Champions, Estonia and Switzerland eliminated China when we're halfway through the round of 16...
  10. no.8 seed Lisa Pusztai already out in the first round of the women's Individual Sabre..
  11. men's Team Sabre, quarterfinals (Tomorrow): South Korea vs France Germany vs China Italy vs Egypt Hungary vs Turkey
  12. Men's Individual Epee Gold: Romain Cannone Silver: Kazuyasu Minobe Bronze: Igor Reizlin & Neisser Loyola Semifinals Cannone b. Loyola 15-14 Minobe b. Reizlin 13-12 Final Cannone b. Minobe 15-12 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2022/242?tab=results
  13. Women's Individual Foil Gold: Ysaora Thibus Silver: Arianna Errigo Bronze: Lee Kiefer & Maria Boldor Semifinals Errigo b. Kiefer 15-14 Thibus b. Boldor 15-3 Final Thibus b. Errigo 15-10 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2022/243?tab=results
  14. so, the medallists from today's action are well known... in the women's Foil, the semis are: Lee Kiefer vs Arianna Errigo and Maria Boldor vs Ysaora Thibus in the men's Epee, instead, the top 4 are: Romain Cannone vs Neisser Loyola and Igor Reizlin vs Kazuyasu Minobe so, we have some surprising results, way more than yesterday...especially that Neisser Loyola of them all, where the hell did he come out from??? for Italy, just "no comment"...but someone should go back to Italy by swimming...
  15. more infamous fencing from the Italians... the no.2 seed in the women's Foil, Alice Volpi, is out in round of 32 against the not exactly phenomenal Maia Weintraub... and Martina Favaretto is also already dead and gone in round 2 against Maria Teresa Diaz, once again not exactly the no.1 in the world... at least, Davide Di Veroli (winning against Lopez Pourtier) and Federico Vismara (winning against Sten Priinits) are through to the last 16 in the men's Epee... so, except for the top Italians, no major surprises so far in both today's events...
  16. well, he already played for Italy in 2017, so it's only a question of him being available at the right time... Rizzo played for Italy in 2013, but then he declined in 2017...so, it's not that obvious he's going to play the next WBC...
  17. women's Team Skeet Gold: China Silver: Thailand Bronze: Slovakia Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16707 men's Team Skeet Gold: Italy Silver: China Bronze: Great Britain Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16708

  19. no. 3 seed Andrea Santarelli out in the first round of the men's Epee against the unknown John Rodriguez...
  20. I'd have liked more if they were at early/mid August (starting on July 28th -my birthday - would have been perfect), but it's still a good period also late in July...
  21. and yesterday Italy lost to Israel (83-82 after OT)... not a big problem, as all the teams go through to the knockout stage, but still... now we're going to face Croatia in the round of 16...
  22. I'm really curious to see who Mike Piazza is capable of recruiting for Italy... so far, the only player announced is Trey Mancini (he should be the captain of the team), but of course I hope he can get many more MLB players... my wish list include for sure Anthony Rizzo and Jordan Romano (who played for Italy already in the past), but also guys like Tony Gonsolin and other players of Italian heritage... unfortunately, playing the early stages in Far East doesn't help our cause...
  23. maybe, but if they were consistent all day with a certain call, they just can't do the opposite on the last one of the day... I mean, Curatoli was called the same way (first attack no, the counter hits) at least 3 times against Teodosiu (last hit included)...and also Samele's last hit against Pianfetti was exactly the same... p.s. and I'm not sure they were always wrong... p.p.s. consistency is the main rule about refereeing...in any sport...if man is not consistent, then it's all open for manipulation and injustice...
