Dramatic men´s quarter finals in european championship. Felix Lebrun elimnated after dominating first 2 sets. Lost 2 sets, and then a 3rd after having a match point in 6th set. And Duda won the final set 11-6.
 
In the all-swede quarter final Möregårdh dominated first two, before Källberg dominated the next 2, the 6th set went to 16 points before Möregårdh finally won. But they both play together tomorrow in the doubles final.

I assume this is one of the biggest surprises ever in this sport 
 
World #1  Wang Chuqin lost to 14 years old  Benyamin Faraji at the Asian Championships today.  China still survived the team match 3-1
(OK I know Wang is not playing well recently but still)
 
ps: it's unbelievable but Iran actually had a chance to do the impossible and beat China, Noshad was competitive in both of his matches against Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin.

This one is mainly on IOC and their policy of having everything huge, in exceptional and glittering venues. Such crap.
 
Canoe Slalom by nature is a sport you need literally some 200 meters of wild water you can find in every river in this planet. The olympic race in Atlanta (Lake Ocoee was still on river and it was/still is considered as the best canoe slalom olympic races ever held. Sydney in 2000 however stunned the world with a super modern artificial Penrith wild water venue and since then it went all wrong, IOC asked hosts to build similar expensive artificial venues beginning in Athens 2004.
 
If IOC stayed smart and so-green-ecologically thinking institution like they love to be presented, then they would have kept this sport where it belong on rivers, where you do not need anything expensive just a couple of gates and ropes for tying

Agree. And its not that hard to do it in terms of the qualification process. 3 places for Europe, 2 North America, 2 South America, 2 Asia, 2 Africa and 1 Oceania. Its still pretty equal and balanced.

4 x 200 needs to lose the semifinals. There arent enough strong teams for that. Make a direct final and that's it.

No, not change each Olympics. Fencing having had that rotating team thing was already awful enough.
 
50m's just don't add much. So often we see somewhat the same people in most of the 50m races. It's already enough to have one distance for the odd strokes, no need to have two at all.
 
- A few freestyle distances (since that's the fastest way of swimming, so the most important one), maybe 100, 400, 1500 or something is fine
- Either 100 or 200 meter in the slow strokes, no need to have both
- One individual medley, 400m probably being the best option
- Men's and women's medley relay
- Men's and women's freestyle relay (not two of those, no need, so either 4x100 or 4x200)
 
For a grand total of 14 individual events (7 M, 7 W) and 4 relays (2 M, 2 W).
