  1. Pie defeated Aruban by only 4-3 in Pan Am semis last year. So I wouldn't say it's that one sided.
  2. Well done Aruba and Panama! Looks like women's 49kg is a dream category for new nations. So far, three nations will be making their Olympic debut after qualifying in women's 49kg (DR Congo, Cape Verde and Aruba).
  3. Looks like I jinxed Canada, sorry.
  4. In both categories so far we have 1st-4th seeds in semifinals... Not exactly interesting.
  5. It's Yvette Yong, not Yvette Gonda. I was already wondering how on earth can she compete at both European and American qualification tournament!
  6. Lasers usually have 10 races, RS:X 12 races, 49ers 15 races. Depending mostly on weather there could be less races but it couldn't be more than that.
  7. Who will be the favourites for the remaining team quotas?
  8. Well, I play Counter Strike regularly, but I wouldn't call that a sport activity.
  9. Asian qualification regatta provisional qualifiers after day 2... Men's Laser - Malaysia, Thailand (China and Japan are close) Women's Laser Radial - Thailand, Malaysia (South Korea is close) Men's 49er - India (Japan and Thailand are close) Women's 49er FX - Japan (nobody is close) Men's RS:X - Thailand, Indonesia (Singapore and Oman are relatively close) Women's RS:X - Thailand (Singapore is slightly close)
  10. Guam should have a chance in men's mountain bike. They are planning to attend Oceanian Championships and they will basically need a single point to qualify. http://www.guamsportsnetwork.com/2016/lombard-take-1st-mtb-championship/
  11. Here is one more interesting fact about this Egypt's apparent qualification. They have never competed in track cycling at the Olympics, but they did compete in track cycling at the 1906 Intercalated Games. And, interestingly enough, their track cyclist in 1906 (Eugenio Colombani) also competed in wrestling at the same Games.
  12. I imagine that she will not be very competitive in Rio. Her 200m times at African championships were around 15 seconds! But it will be interesting to see I guess.

  19. Wait, so Egypt is qualified in women's sprint? That's a surprise.
  20. It actually seems faster than the old one to me.
  21. Sara Kolak threw a Croatian records in javelin yesterday (62.75). That's our 11 athlete qualified in athletics (already more comparing to 2008 and 2012). Btw, wow @ Bolivia! They add 2 more walkers. Now they have 5 athletes qualified in total and they are all race walkers!
