  1. Some Olympic paths are easy, some are not.
  2. Well, the same thing is going to happen at the Pan Am tournament where Puerto Rican and Honduran girl will just have to show up in women's +67.
  3. Yes, these entries could be wrong. For example, before the Oceanian tournament they contained Marshall Islands (who didn't compete) and they didn't contain Solomon Islands (who did compete). Though, well done Honduras, I guess. We also had interesting Oceanian qualification last week, where Tonga defeated New Zealand and where Papua New Guinea denied another one of those "refugee" quotas.
  4. I think the only way for Suriname to qualify is if South Africa gets spot in women's sprint and then doesn't accept it. If I remember correctly South Africa does have a provisional quota there. And if I'm not mistaken any unused quota goes to tripartite commission who can allocate it in a different event.
  5. Any live stream for afternoon session?
  6. According to this Canada chose men's K1 and C1 for Rio http://olympic.ca/rio-2016-qualification-tracker/ They had to choose 2 out of 3 quotas that they won at Pan Am Games (K1M, K1W, C1M).
  7. Yes, Algeria already qualified in some classes last year. What I meant is that Algeria didn't qualify in sailing for London 2012 or any other Olympics before.
  8. Well, sometimes it's hard to find the same avatar. Especially if it was found online.
  9. If she fails that will increase the chance for us!
  10. We have a solid chance to qualify in women's springboard, what would be great. Marcela Marić is 9th best diver that didn't get into semis. South Africa is in front of her and we can already discount them as their selection document very clearly says that any reallocated quotas will not be accepted. Similar could happen with New Zealand who is also just in front of Marcela. So, she is basically 7th or 8th in line (at least).
  11. Yes, but they should get European continental quota while Asian would go to North Korea,
  12. Yes, they like to have it all annualy, except Olympics of course.
  13. Yeah, I know it's silly, but in sailing World Championships are every year (even in Olympic years)!
  14. Netherlands vs New Zealand is a bit of surprising final.
  15. There only Spain ahead of us in the results btw hello, welcome back I think you should be safe. Top 13 will qualify (Oceania and Africa reallocated). Also, assuming that Ukraine, Japan and Spain will qualify a team here. These are qualifiers after technical routine: FRA, GRE, MEX, AUT, USA, KAZ, SUI, CZE, COL, ISR, ARG, SVK, GBR
  16. Entry list for final qualification events (European, African and Asian regattas) are out Europe and Africa http://www.trofeoprincesasofia.org/en/default/races/race-inscriptions Asia http://www.ac2016.asiansailing.org/index.php/competitor-information/who-is-registered So, who is the biggest hero of this? It's Algeria. They have very wisely used the fact that ISAF has introduced continental Olympic quotas for the first time and the fact that some sailing classes are completly non-existent in Africa. They are the only African nation in women's 470, men's 49er, women's 49er FX and mixed Nacra 17, so they are guaranteed all of those quotas! They will compete in 7 out of 10 classes in Rio (11 sailors in total). To put it in the perspective, Algeria has never qualified a single sailor for the Olympics before.
  17. This definitely doesn't feel like a brand new forum. With so many people on the first day already.
  18. They can both qualify in both disciplines.
  19. At least it looks like Slovak girls could qualify.
  20. Wow, no GB in women's team sprint! That's a big upset. On the other hand I'm happy that Spain qualified. You wouldn't pick them as favourites before the qualification started but they did it.
  21. And I'm annoyed that our federation didn't send anyone. We had an outside chance for qualification! But looks like they're cheap.
  22. Final Olympic quoalification tournament (Rio Test event) started today. Start lists, results and live scores here. http://www.omegatiming.com/Competition?id=0001100300FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF&sport=AQ&year=2016
