  1. my friend can I ask you to change your mind ? I exactly have the same problem with these double standards. I left the forum so many times in past . you can ask Sindo . he will tell you try this "ignore option" that's great. that's the only reason I'm still here. I simply don't see people I don't like.
  2. nobody, really ? you should read some comments in the forum, US bombs are nice. only Russian bombs are ugly if we want to talk about history, here in Iran unfortunately we have experiences with all those powerhouses (US, UK and the Soviets) attacking and killing our people. sometimes directly. sometimes indirectly. (you will be surprised to learn who gave chemical weapons to the dear old Saddam to whip out some of our cities) I wrote what I really feel about this madness in another comment. nothing can justify a war. and I hate all warmongers, eastern or western and I wake up everyday hoping to hear some news about a ceasefire or something like that. right now I only wish and pray this war ends as soon as possible to not lose more lives, that's the most important thing right now. btw if someone watches CNN for 2 hours he may end up cheering for Putin. US media can be this bad sometimes.
  3. sure, always glad to help in this case if you want to go with Olympic champions what would be easy but some of those "Olympic Champions" aren't really the best of their era. 2008 and 2012 gold medalists didn't actually win the gold on the competition's day. if I had to name 5 biggest super heavyweight wrestlers I would name Baumgartner, Musulbes, Akgul and Petriashvili. Artur Taymazov is surely there but he lost 2 of his 3 Olympic golds because of doping and everybody knew he was using drugs in 2004 too. he just didn't get caught.
  4. I'm new to these polls. do you want to compare athletes from different Olympics? that will be a bit hard since they changed weights in wrestling so many times. but in men's freestyle I would suggest a middle weight, 74-76kg. or you can go for the super heavyweight (if it was Greco-Roman I would surely suggest the supper heavyweight)
  5. my friend. in this case just be careful to not get too close to the American troops. they usually don't consider local people as human. things like this can happen too which wasn't even against the "law" https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59157089
  6. I wish you, your family and your country the best of luck. I know how it feels to live in a situation like that. I just hope this madness, this meaningless war ends soon. with as less causality as possible
  7. my reaction to this question is we had 3 athletes, one of them tested positive for doping, another one tested positive for COVID and the last one scored a DNF. that summarizes our performance in winter sports. I follow winter sports for a bit less than 2 decades (thanks to Eurosport) and I always hoped one day some of them develop in my country but I just know it will never happen. nobody takes wintersports serious here. we had TV coverage this year. mostly because there was nothing else to show in the morning/afternoon but that's it. absolutely no coverage in news websites. newspapers etc (except that our flag bearer doping scandal)
  8. she also lost by just 0.10 to Duerr. in the whole competition she was the only one who was close to win a race from the red course. nobody else was Shiffrin will never forget this Olympics. even when she was doing great, someone else messed up her chance.
  9. I highly doubt that. she was the only one on the red course getting very close to win a race let me show you guys some statstics , if we don't count CHN vs SUI . we had only and only one win from the red course (beside DNF wins) and that solitary win belongs to Shiffrin against Slovakia. I somehow think she was the best skier today
  10. looks like the only team who reazlied how to deal with this is Germany . the rest simply threw their skiers into the competition. there is one simply strategy in a sitution like this. put your best male and best female skiers on the blue course to achieve the best possible time
  11. US team once again will put Shiffrin on the red course. she did great against Bassino and Duerr but still lost narrowly. (maybe she wins this time) she deserves a medal today but it seems whoever makes decision for team USA can't understand simple logic.
  12. yep. turned out to be a stupid strategy as expected. I mean that was obvious
  13. out of 16 QF races. 14 of them had won by the skier on the blue course and those other 2 races finished by DNF. teams should put their best skiers for the blue course. Switzerland made a big mistake here by not using Holdner first.
  14. almost everybody in blow course wins (except Aliprandini who always DNFs)
  15. I can do that. just need one more accident to be eligible for the Paralympic competition
  16. I think you guys have higher standards in Poland your sister would be considered very tall for a woman here I'm couple centimeters shorter than 195 and my friends consider me the tallest person in the town yeah I know 170 is still short but I thought he is 160 or something by his look. so 170 was taller than my expectation at least.
  17. I assume you are partying right now. but congrats @hckošicewhenever you read this
  18. he looked smaller than 170cm to me . so he is not that short after all ( still short comparing to those Russians ) it seems he could have a successful career in weightlifting. but I'm glad he picked a different sport Congrats
  19. oh well. look who is leading in the bronze medal match. (and they just scored another one)
  20. well that was a very quality final . each of those 3 teams could end up on top of the podium but at the end of day only one of them could win the gold. how tall is Han Cong ? he is VERY strong for someone at his size.
  21. so it's technically a knockout competition without repechage wrestling tried that format from 2000 to 2004. that's terrible. I like the round robin part though (athletes travel a long distance for more than just 1 match) but then with only 1 karateka advancing it's worse than the old format . this is interesting. wrestling is now using the (old) karate format. and Karate wants to use the old wrestling format. that's amazing. isn't it ?
  22. You rarely can see any sign of nerves on curlers. but I think Edin was pretty nervous before those last 2 shots on the 10th end. he had to be perfect to make it to the extra end and he was indeed perfect
  23. Thanks, that's interesting, I didn't know basketball in popular there, but I guess I should know, basketball is a popular sport worldwide. I think it's always good to host sport events. at very least it helps the sport in the country to develop and improve we don't know what will happen in July. but I hope it will be with spectators.
  24. FIBA Asia Cup draw A) B) C) D) kind of a boring group for Iran, we will play SYR and KAZ next week during the WC qualifiers. it seems we have to play Syria every single tournament but based on the knockout round bracket we HAVE to beat Japan to finish 1st in the group and avoid Australia in the QF. this is probably the last tournament for some of our old guys. we had this generation since 2007 and they did great by winning 5 medals already (0 medals before 2007 !) but this is their last hurrah , hopefully they win a bronze at least. this is also important for host Indonesia, they have to finish in top 8 to qualify for the 2023 World Cup!! that's fiba's requirement to give them the host quota. @Griff88 is it a sure thing that Indonesia doesn't cancel the tournament in the last minute ? is this sport even popular there ? (I mean the NT level. everybody watches the NBA)
  25. hopefully you get the bronze.
