  1. However it might well reduce the price broadcasters pay for the rights.
  2. Those three are some of the more popular sorts in terms of viewing figures.
  3. Is there a suitable velodrome in Nigeria or South Africa? That couid cover for Ghana?
  4. The president of the Paris 2024 Olympics has admitted that the triathlon competition could be delayed, or the swimming leg even cancelled, if adverse weather conditions impact on water quality in the River Seine this summer. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/apr/09/olympic-triathlon-swimming-leg-could-be-cancelled-over-seine-water-quality
  5. Plus British Cycling know who they want and won’t want to take have fo someone they don’t want to because they did better at the trails.
  6. In terms of integrated events but obviously Athletics can’t have the exact same selection procedure becuase the weather has a big impact. A bad day of weather might mean few making a BST on that day which takes away the big attraction. And also MC events work for some classifications and events but others wont be practical so the timetable would be bigger. Plus do Athletics want to make the selection more high profile when that increases the coverage the rejecting of invites would get. It’s clear British Athletics doesn’t have the trust of it’s competitors swimming has.
  7. They will take some discretionary picks but not enough to fill all 30 I suspect.
  8. It does seem like the Europeans will be a focus so some of those are mainly targeting a spot they and know they too far off a GB Olympic time. (They will be the invite rejected category which could be where the drama is.)
  9. Plenty of done it before. David Davies, Keri Anne - Payne and Cassandra Patten in Beijing all competed in the pool and then medalled in the open water,
  10. The way they tweet about making the time makes me think the relays that haven’t are in major doubt,
  11. My guess is we don’t have 30 in the team but 28 or 29. And only do 5 or 6 relays.
  12. That’s good. Looking like we might be having a good Para’s then.
  13. Well not unless Richards or Scott pull out or become unavailable
  14. And medalled there. It’s hard to say oh they can’t medal a year later.
  15. Maybe but then that just makes a mockery of the rules really.
  16. Maybe they will. Through if they do the medley is definitely gone and so are the non BST swimmers needed for it.
  17. I’m not sure either of those women are going. Or Wilby.
  18. I will be surprised if someone finishing second with a OQT goes. If Peaty doesn’t need a relay backup I’m not sure any relay does.
  19. If that was the case why bother to have those times anyway.
  20. I will be surprised if it is given the green light baring it could be a fair bit out of the target. However that doesn’t mean others will go - it might just be a team of 27-29
  21. Maybe but could be a bit against the spirt of the policy to do that.
  22. Oh no. A fair chance now we only have 1 of the 3 women’s relay.
