  5. "The FEI has announced adverse analytical findings involving two members of the Qatari Jumping team which booked one of the two Tokyo 2020 team quota slots at the designated Olympic Jumping Qualifier for Group F (Africa & Middle East) in Rabat (MAR) in October 2019. Samples taken on 13 October from the Qatari Jumping athletes Sheikh Ali Al Thani (FEI ID: 10024194), and Bassem Mohammed (FEI ID: 10082635) tested positive for Carboxy-THC, a metabolite of Cannabis, which is a prohibited substance under the FEI’s Anti-Doping Rules for Human Athletes (ADRHA). The athletes have not been provisionally suspended, as Carboxy-THC is a *Specified Substance banned in competition under the 2019 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. Details on these cases can be found here. In order to maintain the integrity of the ongoing legal process, the FEI will not comment further on these cases at this time."
  6. Copying an idea from last year. Readers of this forum nominate your stars of 2019. Male sportsperson of the year: Female sportsperson of the year: Team of the year: Junior sportsman of the year (under 20 years old at 1/1/2019): Junior sportswoman of the year (under 20 years old at 1/1/2019): Greatest moment of the year: Biggest idiot of the year:

  8. And if President Trump were to do that, his political enemies would use it against him.
  9. And it starts to affect the team

  11. It's fair to question that she can compete as a woman despite having advantages over other woman due to her having some internal male physical characteristics. Definitely not fair to call her a cheater though. She has done nothing wrong.
  12. Damn right sir
  13. In fairness if a Polish guy hadn't picked up the tusk of a sea animal from the wall of a London fish resteraunt and hit the terrorist with it then it would have been a lot worse.
  14. https://www.wada-ama.org/en/media/news/2019-11/wada-compliance-review-committee-recommends-series-of-strong-consequences-for And this could go down in history as one of the worst scandals ever.
  15. Perfectly acceptable. Missed the quarter finals on points difference then won the consolation matches to finish 9th,
  16. So I've been thinking... Here's my idea. You go back to the pushing button system you had in 2012 and earlier but with some changes. Person who lands most punches in a round gets 20 pounds. If the other fighter lands 1-5 punches less in the round they 19 points. 6-10 punches less they get 18 points. 11-15 fewer punches they 17 and so on. Fighter who gets knocked down loses a point. And the same thing for all three rounds. Would that be better? Assuming that the judges are competent and honest of course...
  17. So if boxer A has won the first two rounds easily, and knows he has, then he'll just defend in the last round and give away the round.knowing he'll still win...
  18. Interesting how strong a team Hong Kong can turn out for Olympic qualifiers. IOC rules are much stricter than World Rugby rules when it comes to nationality.
  19. The first sign of winter is a Brazilian speed skating record being broken...
  20. The 2016 system was based on 9 decisions, 3 by each judge. If only 2 of those 9 were totally stupid then the result could be affected. With the new system they could be making 60 decisions every round. Far harder to make really bad decisions.
