  1. Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz already arrived to the olympic village, and they are proving to be quite popular. Look at this fan-made collection of selfies of Carlos Alcaraz's first day He hasn't stoped taking pics with everyone
  2. Kind of a stupid post and I hope nobody gets ofended by it, but... as a basque person I always dream... What would our National Team for the games be if we where independent? Well, this is the answer. (Fictional) BASQUE TEAM FOR PARIS 2024 ATHLETICS - 2m+2w · Asier Martínez (110 hurdles) · John Cabang (110 hurdles) · Tessy Ebosele (Long Jump) · Majida Mayouf (Marathon) BADMINTON - 1w · Clara Azurmendi (Women's singles) She wont be going to Paris cause ESP has an athlete before her at the ranking, but she's in qualifying position. BOXING - 1m · Oier Ibarretxe (-63.5kg) CANOE SLALOM - 1m+2w · Pau Echaniz (K1 & cross) · Miren Lazcano (C1 & cross) · Maialen Chourraut (K1 & cross) CANOE SPRINT - 1w · Begoña Lazkano (K1 500m) CYCLING - 2m+1w · Oier Lazkano (Road & TT) · Alex Aramburu (Road) · Ane Santesteban (Road & TT) GOLF - 2M+1W · Jon Rham · Adrián Otaegi · Carlota Ciganda Adrián wont be in Paris due to having other spaniards in front of him, but he's in qualifying places. JUDO - 1W · Ariane Toro (-52kg) ROWING - 1w · Virginia Díaz (Women's Skiff) SKATE - 1M+1W · Alain Kortabitarte (Men's Park) · Naia Laso (Women's Park) SURFING - 2M+2W · Andy Criere · Joan Duru · Nadia Erostarbe · Janire González-Etxabarri SWIMMING - 1M+1W · Jon Osa (100m backstroke) · Nahia Garrido (200m backstroke) We have no standars so I guess that this two would be our Universality quota recipients. TAEKWONDO - 1M · Jon Andoni Cintado (-80kg) He wont be in the games cause Spain couldnt send anymore athletes to the final qualifier. But if he could compete, I think he qualifies. TOTAL: 27 ATHLETES (13 men + 14 women) 19 of those would be in Paris representing , one representing , one representing and six that don't get to go. Other athletes that would had slim chances to qualify: ATHLETICS: Abdelaziz Merzoughi, a moroccoan inmigrant, live his young years until he was over 18 in a center on the basque country. He cretidts the start of his running career thanks to a basque coach. He probably would be representing the basque country. He has the olympic standar for the Men's Marathon. BASKER 3X3: Both France and Spain have a basque athlete in their olympic teams. Qualifying is hard but with the level of some basque 5x5 players, not impossible. CANOE SPRINT: Iñigo Peña in men's K1 1000 CANOE SLALOM: Men's C1 quota. CYCLING: A third mal quota or a second women's quota could perfectly happend, but I went prudent. ROWING: nother boat through the European qualifier, due to some of our rowers level, it could happend. TAEKWONDO: Jone Magdaleno in -62kg & other posible athletes from the basque diaspora round the world. MEDAL CHANCES? Well, we have them: Jon Rham in Golf, Ariane Toro in Judo, the Slalom team and sligth chances for the surfers and Naia Laso in skate. My prediction? 0 medals, sadly.
  3. too now. also got one extra so they would have a men in the games.
  4. It's absurd. They broked their own rule of "only 3 universalities in 800" to put there athletes like Guem, who was just a handfull places behind in the World Ranking of getting a quota place in 1500. If you are going to break your own rules, at least do it rigth and put Guem and the rest of 1500 specialist you sent to 800 in 1500....
  5. have received a second universality quota in Athletics, to ensure both genders being represented in their dellegation. And, for some reason I dont get, has gotten TWO quotas in the same event, women's 100m. I love how Guam has schamed the IOC for an extra quota because with 6 female competitors qualified for the games, they decided to name a 7th one with the Athletics universality and now IOC gave them 1 extra so they would have a male in the Games. Smart. kinda of did the same. However the IOC gave a 100metres quota to a half marathon runner . And she's not the only one, since athlete, who already competed at the 2020 Games marathon, is also listed as a 100m runner. Hoping those are mistakes and not the IOC and World Athletics forcing marathon runners to do a different event cause..... I expect anything from them....
  6. And I hope this is a mistake, but 2020 olympic marathon runner Sharon Firisua is listed as competing in 100 metres. Like... this has to be amistake, rigth?
  7. They gave 5 more universality places in Men's 800 cause are now listed also
  8. what do you want to look for? Cause you can always filter the ranking by 3 per country, and that's it
  9. Only 1 AP athlete in the Race Walking Relay???........ Oh, you slovaks are just AMATEURS!!!!! Because the olympic cycle in spanish athletics has not been as buoyant as our national federation expected when applying its criteria of excellence, they have use the Race Walkking rellay to "disguise" the reality that extra hard qualification criteria doesnt work, and they have name TEN DIFFERENT RACE WALKERS for the Race Walking relay, to bump up the total numbers of athletes in the Olympics and be able to say that "this is the second bioggest team of Spanish athletes in the games ever!!!!!" So, yeah, your federation using the relay to bump up their number by one is almost forgibeable
  10. Athletics is reporting that World Athletics revised acreditation concepts for the 5th relay only athlete.
  11. Spain declined that quota, even though the athlete, Iñaki Cañal, would be in Paris running the rellay. Beyond pathetic by the federation
  12. Sifan Hassan A boxer whos name I cant remember but is a total ass Pedro Pablo Pichardo Ingrebigtsen And all of "that country"
  13. Since qualified two male quotas by ranking (Catrofe in 5000 and Lasa in Long Jump), I guess they are going to lose their Marathon Univerdality quota. Ironically, they dont have a women's quota.
  14. Mohammed DWEDAR got one of the men's 800 universality places https://www.facebook.com/palestinPAF/posts/pfbid02NJ1FADwqgxFN9yx5418MTRoCqp837dYCqTRucm39J6VKSfEAY1agmPrNVjjgJcaFl

  16. Entry lists: https://www.itftennis.com/en/events/olympics-paris-2024/entry-list/
  17. Is a post from the swimming federation, I wasn't able to find anything from their NOC
  18. Two swimmers for !!! https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid02hjVLN6YtVrbJnixu1A2QotRu59pCgxXRzFzJ2ScDzc4RQfZcjdpUzpBCPTkVEMwbl&id=100083055691709
  19. got a universality quota in Judo, Men's -73kg (And I think a quota in Women's 100m but Im not so sure about that)
  20. Equatorial Guinea got, at least, a quota in men's 100 (athletics) another one in men's swimming, according to their facebook page.
  21. was given a quota with a OCT time (Jessica Vall, women's 200 breaststroke)
  22. The Olympic Comitee rejected the two universiality quotas they got. The national federation is battling against the decision. But sadly I think there's not a lot to do.....
