Usually I support the strict measures to contain the spread the virus, but I still think my local government Chayang, Beijing is over-reacted. The thing is that one oversea student back to Beijing found positive at home after 14-day mandatory quarantine who tested negative twice during that. So sadly his 3 family members are also infected. No others infected yet because he found positive just after 2 days coming back home, not too much time and space to infect others. These occasional cases in my opinion is quite normal, it will happen every now and then unless this pandemic is fully over. But the Beijing government is going crazy and list Chaoyang district as the ONLY high risk district in China, apparently many other more dangerous districts still with local transmission are listed moderate. The consequence for me is that I can not leave Beijing, otherwise I may be rejected live in hotel or facing a mandatory quarantine as I am from high risk district. I think the main reason for over-reaction is that some important political conference will be held next week in Beijing. As the capital security and stability are prioritized than economic activities and convenience. It's troublesome for me and really hate it.

I don't really buy it. I just read the full CNN article, no substantial source at all, mostly by imagination and typical fake news. The only seemingly reliable source in it is from South Korean media Daily NK, he conducted surgery in 12th April and back to Pyongyang in 19th April, but not mentioning grave danger.

China doesn't recognize dual citizenship. Once you obtain another citizenship, you will lose Chinese citizenship automatically. But if you don't tell it to Chinese police and use Chinese passports to enter and leave the country, you can temporarily keep the dual citizenship until government knows it. Economy is first priority of China and it's the fundamental policy of decades. Everything could be sacrificed but not economy. So shutdown is not as easy as imagined. And there is no depression a few years ago in China in my memory, maybe some negative impact of 2008 financial crisis but still a minor one and definitely no shutdown of economy.

Good to know that and good for u and Australia. For me, my life is not coronavirus-centric, it never was or will be. Being living China is suitable for me after my previous travel and study experience overseas. It's fast-paced, busy at working but with my liked food, adapted culture and fine salary. And I can see through my eyes China is developing very fast during past 30 years. I am a witness and I experienced the whole process and now I am more than willing to be a contributor for my country. Still a lots of things like freedom of speech don't meet the standard of democratic western countries, but it doesn't bother too much for me. My life is doing my job and enjoying the leisure time but not to criticize the government. Since you want to enjoy the benefits and convenience you have to sacrifice something.

Only one city Suifenhe. It’s a small border city connected to Russia and huge amounts of Chinese flee back through this border. Until now 300+ tested positive, close to full capacity of this small city. Medics are coming for helping and temporary hospital is being built. The border is temporarily closed for one week and will reopen after preparations.

It's more like a daily TV show. No one take it seriously and I like his daily debate with "fake news media" in press conference. To be honest, it is fun and he maybe right sometimes, for example he said comparing the ability of spreading panic, I am 10000 times better than you (some fake news media), but I chose not.
