PHI2019 got a reaction from Griff88 in Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026 Broadcasting
Watched portions of the Opening ceremony live early today on Pilipinas Live but they don’t have the Games on their regular schedule. Fortunately, we have access to the Games thru the Age Of Sports page on YouTube.

Overall, I think the show was quite nice. Nothing really outstanding, besides Andrea Bocelli, but...nice. Just for the love of everything that is sports, let's never, ever do this "opening ceremony in multiple places" thing again, please. That absolutely didn't work, they were cutting away all the time so everyone got barely shown. Plus, you're taking us from inside the massive stadium with 80.000 people or so back and forth to 3 people walking in front of the local town hall of a small village with some locals attending while walking their dogs before going to sleep, so to say. Just don't do that again please.

Now I can't unsee that TM... it is really annoying, and makes the IOC seem really petty.

That´s relly bad and sad.
They speak about growning the Olympics and make them available to bigger audiences and blah blah... but it´s just pure crap as usual.
This is one of the things why I really hate the newer IOC policy agenda since Bach.
It was much better before, now they are just killing the OG for money, money and money

PHI2019 reacted to Dragon in Olympedia
Olympedia update.
The IOC did pull out of the deal because of "budget reasons" but we compromised by accepting less money and just updating 2024 and not Milan-Cortina for the time being.
The result is that the contract was signed this week and we just need to transfer our private data to Olympedia and then it will be back up to date.
Unfortunately not all our members were happy with the IOC's behavior and some may leave us because of this.
