  1. There are 2 tripartite quotas, they will likely be reallocated as ranking quotas like in 2016.
  2. And yeah, I know that our men's K4 boat is a "work in progress", but that heat was terrible.... They better get their shit together either for tomorrow or for the ECh because I am getting worried about Tokyo.
  3. I hate it so damn much that the starts matter on the K4 race because they were stupid enough to cut the distance in half. And then they did the same thing for men's K2 and men's C2, so we will only have two 1000m events for Paris. At this rate we won't have any 1000m races by 2028.
  4. Kudos to Valter and his team for protecting the lead on this stage. I am pretty sure that tomorrow will be the end of this miracle, but he already carried the jersey for as long as anyone could have expected it from him.
  5. I find it surprising how much better the canoe sprint coverage is, both in terms of having a reliable site and having a live stream for the all the races. I always thought that rowing is the superior discipline in terms of international interest because it's more Western and more well-liked in the wealthier parts of the world than canoe, and yet ICF is doing a much better job with canoe sprint.
  6. World Cup medalists WK1 200m 1. 2. 3. MK1 200m 1. 2. 3. WC1 200m 1. 2. 3. MK1 1000m 1. 2. 3. MC1 1000m 1. 2. 3. WK1 1000m 1. 2. 3. MK2 500m 1. 2. 3. WC1 500m 1. 2. 3. MC2 500m 1. 2. 3. WK2 500m 1. 2. 3. MK1 500m 1. 2. 3.
  7. I have no clue whatsoever what's going on. ICF better explain this "administrative error"... This news is one day old and the only reason I know about it because the Hungarian commentator mentioned it at the World Cup. Only the French and Norwegian media reported on it, I couldn't find anything from ICF.
  8. lost their MK1 1000m quota: https://www.ffck.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/14-05-21-CP-BURGER-ICF-ENGLISH.pdf gets the quota for their 3rd place.
  9. Another amazing race for the Germans in MC1 1000m, they are ready for Tokyo.
  10. Bad news for us, Kopasz doesn't seem as strong as in 2019 and the Germans got a new young talent, Jacob Schopf, who might be the strongest candidate for the MK1 1000m gold after this World Cup.
  11. World Cup finalists for today WK1 200m MK1 200m WC1 200m MK1 1000m MC1 1000m WK1 1000m MK2 500m WC1 500m MC2 500m WK2 500m MK1 500m
  12. Did we seriously win a medal in artistic swimming because only 3 teams entered the event?
  13. The only thing I know is that we very likely won't qualify anyone. I am just glad that we will have that one boat in rowing, before COVID I was very afraid that we will completely miss this discipline.
  14. Unless I miscalculated, after the World Cup Final the ranking quotas would be distributed to these 8 NOCs: And the next 5 spots for likely reallocations depending on what happens with the tripartite and WCh quotas:
  15. Another great race and medal from Gulyás, it's good to see that even if her shooting isn't perfect, she's a good enough runner to correct her mistakes. She really is one of the biggest winners of the one year delay in the entire Hungarian Olympic team.
  16. And 18 years old Amira Kandil is leading before the combined, Egypt is looking good for their second women's quota. @thepharoah
  17. Terrible World Cup Final for Alekszejev, this is good news for Sarolta Kovács, she can still be the second Hungarian pick for Tokyo. Gulyás is still in great shape, hopefully she can stay in the Top10, her quota and place in the Hungarian Olympic team seems secured.
  18. Also, just to reiterate: you have no clue whatsoever about Hungarian sports or about the country if you think that there's "system" in place for doping. We had and will always have some athletes who will take stuff, as in every country, maybe sometimes in a small group with their friends like our two doping gold medalists in Athens, but there can't be a system where the sports aren't centralized and even more importantly: the people at the top don't care that much. Orbán's true passion is football, everything else is secondary, and the same can be said about his party regarding sports. And their main goal is to steal money, the results aren't that important. There's just no good reason for the them to have anything similar to what Russia had, risking a ton of humiliation in case they are exposed, which would likely happen because Hungarian media still have enough freedom for that. And most of the top Hungarian athletes have their own coaches and don't train in a big unified Hungarian national team. Like, Hosszú might as well could have been a completely foreign swimmer when she won most of her gold medals, she was a complete outsider with her training and Shane Tusup. Milák also has his own coach, Attila Selmeczi, who's fully in control of his training. The huge corruption and the money laundering inside Hungarian sports is the actual big issue, not some nonexistent doping system. And side note: if there would actually be a doping system, it would mean that we are doing a terrible job because our results are constant at best, or we are getting worse. Why are we so shit in athletics and weightlifting (and getting worse) if we have this system? Hungarian weightlifting has never been as terrible as it is now.
  19. Well, I might as well announce this also here in case someone doesn't read the shooting thread but wants to know about doping cases: István Péni, shooting We will see if he will be banned or not. He's definitely the most promising / strongest Hungarian Olympian athlete to have a positive test since the 2004 Hungarian doping scandals in Athens.
  20. It's official, István Péni is the Hungarian shooter who had the positive doping test. People at the Hungarian Federation suspect that someone put drug into the B vitamin of István Péni, the substance that caused the positive test can be bought anywhere in the world. The investigation is still not finished, but the suspect is clearly Péter Sidi. It's up to ISSF and WADA what they will do with István Péni, first ISSF will have to decide whether they will let him compete in Tokyo and then WADA will have to decide whether they want to veto the decision of the ISSF. As far as the Hungarian federation and the Hungarian Antidoping Agency is concerned, so far they seem to be on the side of Péni. I think they still hope that at least one of the shooters will be declared innocent and can compete in Tokyo, not sure how realistic that is.
  21. Women's 100m hurdles Luca Kozák 12.81 https://www.worldathletics.org/competition/calendar-results/results/7158501
  22. Damn, I was starting imagine the first ever Hungarian in slalom canoe desperately trying to not drown while the Slovaks just laugh at us and say that we should have stayed in calm waters where we belong.
  23. Az őrült nap végére még egy váratlan magyar siker: az ölünkbe hullott az első magyar szlalom kajak-kenu kvóta. Schmid Júlia kijutott női kenuban.
