  1. At least we won both B-Finals so we can say we didn't benefit from the continental requirement this time
  2. Obviously on paper we have a great team, but this wouldn't be the first time where the team should easily win loses.
  3. Big statement match from Canada. It also increases our chances at making the quarterfinals assuming we don't get overconfident.
  4. It could still go to . The have won it in the last 4/5 Olympics. It's the type of quota that goes under the radar since most nations would rather apply to other events.
  5. Here's how the tripartite eligible athletes performed: - 78.400 - 78.100 - 73.300 - 72.850 - 71.350 - 71.000 The quota is by application, but if multiple nations apply they will take previous results into account.
  6. has qualified their first athlete in women's rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around The last of the larger nations has qualified!
  7. I'd still argue that they are more likely to qualify. At the very least Austria could make the argument for more funding by finishing in the top 10.
  8. They probably think they have a better chance at qualifying in eights given the number of entries.
  9. Unused host and tripartite quotas, and declined quotas will be reallocated via the rankings. Declined continental quotas will be kept within the continent if possible
  10. I believe the jumper would have to make it into the sand pit for the jump to count.
  11. Good thing we have shotgun to make it appear China doesn't completely dominate the sport.
  12. Another good size nation qualified. All that remains (besides Belarus and Russia) is Uzbekistan. After that the next biggest unqualified nations include with 25-30 chances each.
  13. So it looks like both Australia and New Zealand qualified in Men's iQFoil, Men's ILCA 7 and Women's 49erFX so big opportunity for Pacific nations. Of course it's more likely the Oceania quotas will be reallocated in the iQFoil and 49erFX
  14. Always nice to see a medal in a sport we aren't strong in, even if it's a non-Olympic event.
  15. In the past you are correct, but for 2024 they introduced a rule where all qualifiers needed to have participated in the final, likely to increase the importance of world rankings. That has since been (thankfully) reversed
  16. So any Pacific Nations wanting to attempt the women's 49erFX in order to get a free quota?
  17. Italy should qualify at the European Jumping Championships, but should they fail they would be the heavy favourite for the 2023 Nations Cup quota (assuming another top nation didn't also fail to qualify). As a recap, here's who is currently still eligible for a quota at the 2023 Nations Cup Final: Italy and Switzerland could qualify via the European Championships while the Pan American Games will likely remove 2 (maybe 3 should Canada fail) from the list
  18. It looks like the qualification has been changed for shooting. Originally, athletes must have reached the finals in order to gain the quota, but now it looks like athletes can qualify based on the qualification round in the event that fewer than four eligible athletes reach the finals which is what it was at previous Olympics.
  19. Big fall for Nigeria. The top players aren't showing up anymore.
  20. Why are we discussing South America? UCI has Pan America as the continent.
  21. Because it's secretly a team sport, but only one person wins a medal. Though honestly with the IOC getting rid of the team aspect, there isn't a huge reason other than the need to get more bodies in the race.
  22. I was looking at the UCI rankings which currently include events which will be dropped by October.
  23. Well at least it gives an opportunity for a time trial rider to qualify should their nation not be in the top 45. More likely, it will go to the 46th nation which is currently though is right behind.
  24. Did only 51 racers finish? That's all I'm finding so far...
