    Probably because the last time Australia had more than 100 new cases in a day was September 3rd (they have been down to under 10 new cases a day for a while). The situation in the US, though... ya, not good.

    Really good course and lots of good racing today. Bankes totally dominated her quarterfinals and semifinals, was happy to see her hang on for the win. Seeing Eguibar win after being so close at home four years ago is really nice. Éliot Grondin is having a great season and he looks to be a great talent at only 19.

    Final piece of the world championship puzzle: Aspen will host the world championships for ski and snowboard half pipe, big air and slopestyle.

    It’s not like there aren’t a bunch of vocally pro-Putin Russian NHL players playing for American teams. Also almost nobody in America knows who Mazepin is or what Haas F1 is :P

    I hope the US pulling out of Yemen will make Russia lose interest, too. Either way I am glad the American government is out of that particular conflict. We never should have been involved in the first place. Now hopefully my other government (Canada) pulls out too.

    Apparently the format was changed to reduce the number of games each team has to play.

    I mean it was the second time in a row the world championship in alpine combined was won by the skier who was 30th after the first run, so not that special.

    Almaty will host the Moguls and Aerials world championships from March 8th to 11th. Only park and pipe still need a host for the world championships. Random: I think it would actually make a lot of sense to separate the world championships for cross, moguls & aerials and park & pipe from each other permanently. Those three set of events really don't have a lot in common.

    Oh neat, Denmark - Egypt is one of the two quarterfinals that will be on ESPN+ in the US. It would he really exciting if Egypt was able to continue its run.

    Either Canada was downplaying expectations or their preparation wasn't actually that much worse than the other teams'.
