  1. Goggia hasn't been herself in the downhill for four years and her losses on the flat splits are enormous. Nothing has changed in another season. Now Vonn has also arrived, in great form... Brignone was probably Italy's best chance for gold in the giant slalom, but because of that damn injury, it's unclear whether she'll even start. In the giant slalom Brignone in last year's form, was much better than Robinson or Scheib, while Vonn and Schiffrin dominate elsewhere. The last time Goggia was in top form was at the beginning of the 2021/2022 season, before her crash in Cortina. In that time, she excelled on every track and split and now she's almost 1 second behind the Austrians on the flat sections...
  2. But unfortunettly they'll probably capture it, just like Bakhmut, etc. Unfortunately, for the past three years, the Rus' have been slowly advancing, but they are gaining these territories—mainly in Donbas. The question is, where will they be permanently stopped? Ukraine's problem is that the eastern part is relatively flat, with no high mountains or other geographical barriers- there's the Dnieper River, but Ukraine can't retreat that far west. This reminds me a bit of the fighting on the Eastern Front in 1944-1945, when the Germans defended themselves valiantly in what is now Poland, but kept retreating. There were good fortifications in former East Prussia, plus good defensive terrain, and the Russians advanced very slowly, but eventually captured what they wanted. Fortunately, Ukraine isn't fighting on two fronts like the Germans were back then- because I'm sure that if the Germans had fought on one: east front, they would have certainly stopped the Russians somewhere- sure not in Berlin :P I generally enjoy World War II history. I recently watched some interesting fight of the German battle for Stalingrad in 1942. There were 3 large factories there and the Germans almost captured them all. They very nearly captured the city, and by September 1942, Hitler was practically certain it would fall.
  5. A disastrous season for Italy. It will be difficult to win anything, and worse still, it won't get any better at the Olympics. Unfortunately, Goggia hasn't been herself for four years and can't make the difference Vonn did today. A disastrous season is ahead for us.
  6. Ok, ma Estonia, Lituania? Accetterei il livello di Polonia e Ungheria... Parco è un allenatore pessimo.
  8. Unfortunately, morals in politics are deteriorating and this applies to almost all countries- for example, the United States. Italy, unfortunately, pioneered in Europe this childishness and stupid things in politics during Berlusconi's time. Moreover, during his time, a negative transformation also took place in the media: stupid programs aimed solely at fooling people. Now, the internet and social media have also joined
  9. Maybe someone else stole the money: the coach? The president? And they're looking for a scapegoat? But it's strange that such a well-known person is being detained- maybe his political views aren't what they should be?
  10. There was also Tymoshchuk, I think, but he simply lives in Russia and doesn't say anything publicly. Second, he retired a long time ago. Generally for me, it's important to distinguish that simply staying in Crimea, for example, isn't as serious a crime as war crimes or working for Russia, for example, by informing. The fact that the current captain of the Women Ukrainian football team was a sport camp in Crimea in 2016 shows that even in Ukraine, no one treats it as a serious offense.
  11. For Italy, the match against Japan and likely the final match against Estonia will be a safe/relegation game, but I'm think that whether the match against Estonia will be decisive on anything, if we have 0 points after 4 matches. We're currently the worst team here – we have 0 points and are taking significantly fewer shots than our opponents in each match. Japan and Estonia are looking better for now and unfortunately, without significant improvement play starting tomorrow, we'll likely be relegated to the fourth division. With the absence of Russia and Belarus, this will be a shame, even for the weaker 2006/2007 age generation. Especially, since we are playing this tournament at home. For anyone could have competed with a good shape, except perhaps Hungary, who are currently the best team in the tournament.
  12. They shouldn't promise additional spots to countries that qualify 3 athletes in each distance, because then taking those spots away isn't fair. For example, in Italy, Previtali won the 500m QO for country but he would likely have to stay at home because the staff probably would have chosen Casinelli for the relay (Casinelli won't be competing individually at all). I don't know what the situation is in Canada with the fifth-place skater? Will this person only compete in the relay, or will he also be a reserve there?

  14. Exactly- you can even lose to Hungary, or even Poland, but do`not to Lithuania and don`t at home, for God's sake!!! Twenty years ago we were on level with Austria and Switzerland and where are we now?
  15. However, defeats to Lithuania, or probably to Estonia, shouldn't have happened at home- if they had taken this tournament seriously, allowed their players to train at this hockey arena, etc. Secondly, Hungary, France and Austria, for example, have never lost to Lithuania in any age group. Do you ever remember that Slovakia losing to Lithuania in any age group in history? And now we are, losing to rivals with a population the size of Milan? And with no hockey tradition whatsoever, like Slovakia or even Latvia. Another thing is that Ukraine, a country at war for four years, is beating us in most of the youth age groups lately and increasingly among the seniors. To me, these things are unimaginable.
  17. Any comments on the game of the next Olympic organizer at home?

  22. The best athletes will all be there anyway – it's easier to get a spot in the top 10-15. Only the great champions were ahead of Gismondi today.
  23. Franchi had a similarly impressive performance at the 2023 World Championships on the same distance but later she completly missing. I hope that with Gismondi will be different, especially since she was already a great talent in her junior years. The problem in Italy is that for the past 15 years, aside from Pellegrino, there has been a miss of stability in other athletes: there are some booms of excellent form, but later they disappear. I also worry that funding for cross-country skiing will be cut after the Cortina Olympics.
