  1. I truly don't understand how they are so enraged by Russian / Belarussian participation and don't condemn other "agressor" countries with "blood on their hands". And I love how people just throw the card "IOC does not know what Olympism is all about", as some say that the Pope is not a "real catholic" and so on. One can just point out how Olympism has its flaws as a philiopshy without point out how it just knows all about it.
  2. All individuals. From my understanding of what is not fully written: Russian and Belarus athletes can not form pairs (as in tennis doubles, etc). And they will get invitations to sports in which the qualification is already finished or has sidelined them (gymnastics comes first in my mind, but boxing etc). Would be more intersting if they could still attend olympic qualifiers (as in boxing, or gymnastics world cup) instead of gaining straight quota.
  3. Thank you so much!!! So, the quotas will only be confirmed in January?? Or probably WTF (lol) will release a new ranking this week?
  4. Is this right? https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com/playerRankingV2?limit=25&pageNo=1&month=11&year=2023&rankingCategoryId=11ea9376-a372-b902-aefb-0af9674366aa&subCategory1=11ea9376-4530-2b19-aefb-0af9674366aa&rankingTypeId=11ea9376-1b54-af01-aefb-0af9674366aa According to this Rafalovich is the 5th and Maicon went down to 11th? I guess it was not updated yet?
  5. Guys, last minute question. How many points does the Grand Slam next week offers? In the 80kg, for instance, I see the Iranian is leader with 750, but can a champion take the place? and just to clarify, since the official document is not very clear, only the ones not qualified through the ranking are eliegible, right? thanks!
  6. On the 66kg Marissa Williamson is also on the final, but not really sure who will take the silver medal lol
  7. So, is this our take on the event? Men C1 1000- TUNISIA Ghailene Khattali C2 500m ANGOLA Manuel Antonio, Benilson Sanda K1 1000m MOROCCO? K2 500m SOUTH AFRICA Women K1- EGYPT K2- SOUTH AFRICA C1- SENEGAL Combé Seck C2 500m NIGERIA Ayomide Bello Powei, Otuedo Beauty We had paralympic quotas as well?
  8. We still have no official report on this competition? what a mess!!! thank you all for all the infos found and sent here!!!
  9. ah ok! but just to be clear, one would also need the BJK etc quota for the Legacy quota. She can get it if she's below the last direct olympic quota, but i guess that's unlikely. And again, this is just a way to let national federations dismiss qualified athletes...
  10. How is Svitolina in this discussion? Either way, Swiatek or Svitolina won't need the LEgacy quota, they can get it with ranking points easily. But remember that legacy quota is an addendum to the rankings, so the same rules & conditions apply. The legacy quota is only an "extra" to garantee that someone under 70 or so and up top 400 in the rankings goes to the Olympics. The "national team conditions" are the same either through direct ranking, Legacy or universality... if she is number 1 or 20 and doesn't get the ranking direct quota she is NOT elegible for the legacy.
  11. Sometimes I think about providing Olympic consulting to small nations in the Pacific and Africa. Not sure if they are interested, but if they properly read Olympic Qualification Documents they could even double up their number of athletes...
  12. How is this all Iga/Fed Cup is being played in Poland? this requirement is pretty stupid tbh and if the Polish Tennis Association is ok with her not participating they can always tell ITF that it was a technical decision, etc. In the end, the tennis association will choose if she's allowed or not. the 2 legacy champs/grand slams are also decided on merits of ranking, so if PTA rules her out, she's out - but i doubt it.
  13. Actually, Pan American Games were the qualifier for Americas!!! I guess USA keeps trying to have its own confederation so they could go as well, as they don't stand a chance with Argentina, Brazil and Chile...
  14. So, I have put my Japanese to test and all good now. Here is the link with all results. Results for MC1 - HANEDA Takuya (JPN), gold Results for MK1 - WU Shao-Hsuan (TPE), 4th place as Japan and China had quotas. Results for WC1 - HUANG Juan (CHN), gold Results for WK1 - CHANG Chu-Han (TPE), bronze as China had already a quota at the event and Japan a quota at the discipline
  15. Is there some place with the results? If I'm on the right link, only Japanese athletes contested the MC1? if so, the event would not be valid.
  16. take the TT quota as the one for mixed doubles in tennis. Only athletes with a quota to RR can participate in it.
  17. I had noted here after the Worlds that Ognjen Ilic (SRB) could also get a quota through his result at time trial, but this doesn't make sense right? Rereading the guide now and only Road Race results are counted.
  18. hey, mate, no worries. In the end we have no clue what will be made of hahaha but i am "saving" the quota for Belarus on my notes and I guess if the quota is not to Belarus, probably it will be used as a "Reallocation" case. It could have been the first Belarus quota, as Russia has already some OQT in athletics (to be seen if they will be valid...) Regarding the tennis, the same scenario... The Davis Cup/BJK thing in the end is a big bull**** used to punish athletes who are in dispute with their federations. It was hardly used in Tokyo/Rio. The athletes from Russia and Belarus would claim that their team was not allowed, so therefore they could not commit to their teams. I'm sure this will not be a decider for that.
  19. Considering that Guatemalan, Russian and Belarus athletes are neutral, therefore not representing a NOC, it does feasible for me to think that their quotas will go to IOC/"Neutral Athletes" Team or something on that regard. What I'm still struggling to understand is if Russian and Belarus will count as "one team" in the matters of quota. In Tennis rankings for instance (could 6 russians and 6 belarussians go or 6 in total? could russia and belarus form a pair?). But in the meantime, their quotas are secured, as it's fair to be, since the athletes won (if they are allowed or not to participate is another matter, but since they are, they should be able to earn their quotas).
  20. Hey Josh, thank you very much once again. Just had the time to go through the list and found some names missing - perhaps they already got quotas on other events? Men’s 400 Alexander Doom (BEL) Busang Collen KEBINATSHIPI (BOT) Men’s 400m hurdles Yasmani COPELLO (TUR) — Ludovica Cavalli got a quota on the 1500m and not on the 800m Women’s 1500 Sinclaire Johnson (USA) Katie Snowden (USA) Sifan Hassan (NED) Cory Ann McGee (USA) (besides Ludovica Cavalli as above) Women’s 5000m Faith Kipyegon (KEN) Ejgayehu Taye (ETH) Freweyni Hailu (ETH) Lilian Kasait Rengeruk (KEN) TANAKA Nozomi (JPN) Laura Galván (MEX)
  21. ahhhhhhhh I think I understand it now thanks!!!! It doesn't make too much sense to me, but I can see the logic now. This way would not hurt athletes that team up with someone from the K4 I guess. So Spain, Hungary and Lithuania go to 5 athletes (K4+1 from K2). But I'm wondering how this will play on the Continental Qualification tournament. Will those countries be allowed to participate solely on the K1 to earn a sixth quota then?
  22. I kind of agree with you. On a qualification guide I wrote I said something on the lines "this is one of the easiest formats once the World Championships is over". It's kind of impossible to follow during it. Edited later: Perhaps they could simply do the schedule according to the guide. The K4 races opening, then the C2/K2 and finishing with the C1/K1. This way i guess would all be clear regarding the allocation.
  23. I think it's ok for us, fans, to have a couple of questions. But athletes and federation staff to not read and understand their own documents bazzle me. For me it's very clear that Lithuania can not have a quota on K2 because Mindaugas MALDONIS was on the K4 boat.
  24. Thank you so much for your table!!! I'm checking my own and have a couple of questions. Regarding the K2 boats that have athletes also in K4 I don't think they are elegible, you can't qualify half a boat. So in the K2 male would qualify: and on the K1 male would qualify: + I don't understand why Argentina has a quota on this table - there are 6 quotas for the K1 plus the French quota, right? I guess it has to do with the 40 + 11 + 8 but i'm not sure what does that mean. thank you so much
