  1. According to the BWF document, Australia retained the 4 quotas, is it right?
  2. I think it's a totally different situation. Israelis probably can go to Turkey but they asked for extra security, which is not mandatory, obviously.
  3. yeah, the 6th quota is AP. As the 3rd male and 3rd female from mixed.
  4. Updating how many quotas each country guarantees. The qualification document indicates that each team can take 5 athletes on their gender relay and 4 athletes on their mixed relay athletes with individual quota MUST participate in the M and F 4x100m and 4x400m, but it doesn't say anything regarding the mixed 4x400m (or I haven't found) So I'm counting it as 5 (and 2 men and 2 women on the mixed relay), but obviously they could pick someone from 200m, 800m, 400m hurdles, etc. (AFTER DAY 2) 120 female quotas (55 on 4x100m, 56 on 4x400, 9 on the mixed relay) 120 male quotas (58 on 4x100, 51 on 4x400, 11 on the mixed relay) wow, it was 50%-50% if my math is right. Obviously, in the end, many if not most of these quotas will come through new EST or individual ranking. Female 4x100m AUS - no women (gets 5 female quotas) CAN- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) FRA- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) GER- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) GBR- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) NED- no women (gets 5 female quotas) POL- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) USA- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) + CIV- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) ITA- no women (gets 5 female quotas) JAM- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) NGR- no women (gets 5 female quotas) SUI- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) TTO- no women (gets 5 female quotas) Male 4x100m CAN- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) CHN- no men (gets 5 quotas) FRA- no men (gets 5 quotas) GBR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) ITA- no men (gets 5 quotas) JAM- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) JPN- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) USA- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) + AUS- no men (gets 5 quotas) GER- no men (gets 5 quotas) GHA- no men (gets 5 quotas) LBR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) NGR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) RSA- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) Female 4x400m CAN- no women (gets 5 female quotas) FRA- no women (gets 5 female quotas) GBR- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) IRL - 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) ITA- no women (gets 5 female quotas) NOR- no women (gets 5 female quotas) POL- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) USA- 3 women (gets 2 quotas) + BEL- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) ESP- no women (gets 5 female quotas) IND- no women (gets 5 female quotas) JAM- 3 women (gets 2 quotas) NED- 2 women (gets 3 quotas) SUI- no women (gets 5 female quotas) Male 4x400m BOT- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) BEL- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) GBR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) GER- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) JPN- 2 man (gets 3 quotas) ITA- 0 man (gets 5 quotas) NGR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) RSA- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) + BRA- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) ESP- 0 man (gets 5 quotas) IND- 0 man (gets 5 quotas) POL- 0 man (gets 5 quotas) TTO- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) USA- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) Mixed 4x400m BEL- 1 men + 1 woman (probably no additional quota)* the male and female 4x400 qualifed above DOM- 1 men + 1 woman (gets 1 male + 1 female quota) FRA- no athlete! 5. I'm pretty sure they added this now because I don't remember reading before. but the 4x400 mixed is still a bit of blur. Perhaps bigger countries can take other athletes, but in the end I doubt this will happen, so ok.
  6. 4x100m and 4x400 can take 5. 4x400 mixed can take 4
  7. Don't tell me you commented this about the women's relay?
  8. I'm sticking to 5 because they will def take an extra. It's more probable that they have 2 reserves (as in 6) than just 4. But as you said, it's just a guess. Sometimes countries choose athletes from other races.
  9. I just checked how many quotas each country qualified today had on its respective 400m or 100m. The qualification document indicates that each team can take 5 athletes on their gender relay and 4 athletes on their mixed relay (not sure if it's a new addition, I just noticed that). And athletes with individual quota MUST participate in the M and F 4x100m and 4x400m, but it doesn't say anything regarding the mixed 4x400m . So I'm counting it as 5 (and 2 men and 2 women on the mixed relay), but obviously they could pick someone from 200m, 800m, 400m hurdles, etc (FINAL AS OF DAY 1, will update tomorrow) So apparently the first day offered 131 quotas 66 female quotas (30 on 4x100m, 32 on 4x400, 4 on the mixed relay) 65 male quotas (31 on 4x100, 26 on 4x400, 8 on the mixed relay) Female 4x100m AUS - no women (gets 5 female quotas) CAN- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) FRA- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) GER- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) GBR- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) NED - no women (gets 5 female quotas) POL- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) USA- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) Male 4x100m CAN- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) CHN- no men (gets 5 quotas) FRA- no men (gets 5 quotas) GBR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) ITA- no men (gets 5 quotas) JAM- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) JPN- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) USA- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) Female 4x400m CAN- no women (gets 5 female quotas) FRA- no women (gets 5 female quotas) GBR- 3 women (gets 2 female quotas) IRL - 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) ITA- no women (gets 5 female quotas) NOR- no women (gets 5 female quotas) POL- 1 woman (gets 4 female quotas) USA- 3 women (gets 2 quotas) Male 4x400m BOT- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) BEL- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) GBR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) GER- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) JPN- 2 man (gets 3 quotas) ITA- 0 man (gets 5 quotas) NGR- 1 man (gets 4 quotas) RSA- 3 men (gets 2 quotas) Mixed 4x400m BEL- 1 men + 1 woman (may get 1 male + 1 female quota)* the male 4x400 qualifed above DOM- 1 men + 1 woman (gets 1 male + 1 female quota) FRA- no athlete! (may get 2 male + 2 female quota)* the female 4x400 qualifed above IRL - 1 woman (may get 2 male + 1 female quota)* the female 4x400 qualifed above NED - 1 man + 2 women (gets 1 male quota) NGR - 1 man (may get 1 male + 2 female quota)* the male 4x400 qualifed above POL- 1 woman (may get 2 male + 1 female quota)* the female 4x400 qualifed above USA- 3 men + 3 women (no additional quota)
  10. Tell us more about that? Western SaharA?
  11. I get it. To me, the idea of the EOR is to take athletes that have no more connection with their country of passport. In Brazil we have many athletes that live abroad for many years/decades but still represent Brazil. Some changed countries (to Portugal, Lebanon, etc) and now for the first time we had someone applying to be refugee (2 girls on weighlifting). many people don't take them seriously but we never know what happened to them, so who knows. Obviously some athletes might try to profit from that, but for me it's the same as someone changing nationality and it's not a real issue. But, I truly believes that IOC runs a check with UN to see if all are considered refugees officially.
  12. Well, so is he really a refugee? From what I've read here he went to RTF simply because he was not selected to the Afghan team.
  13. I have no idea on the Kimia Alizadeh story. But as a refugee, I guess for her it's a good thing that she managed to get a citizenship, passport, etc. If many athletes can change nationalities, I don't see the fuzz to question her ties with Bulgaria. But yeah... regarding Alireza I think there are 3 options: - either he will compete with another country (which?) - or Yahya Al Ghotany will grab his quota at 68kg (as the quota is for the NOC) -or the bronze medallist from Asian Qualifier will get his quota
  14. Have you guys noticed who's missing? @MHSN?
  15. 16. The 3 male quotas are because some players got quotas on 2 events: - Toma Junior Popov (MS, MD) - SEO Seung Jae (MD, XD) - Vinson CHIU (MD, XD) So, according to the last paragraph on the final table from D section the quotas go to This, obviously, if the countries select their best athletes (as they could still select other athletes as long as they are in a qualifying position. But I'm a bit lost on why this wikipedian gave away so many more quotas. Or any references to Australia/NZL forfaiting their singles quotas.
  17. Thanks!!! Was there any official statement?
  18. Has Kasia Wasick managed to get an OQT during the window stablished by the Polish Federation?
  19. Hey, by any chance have you done an update after the Chinese Nationals, plese?
  20. The same happened to Brazil, with their internal criteria. One journalist said that in order to have bigger storage room, the Brazilian sailing federation decided to forget their own rules and take all boats.
  21. The developing nation is specific to countries that did not participated in that class in the last two editions. I agree with you that is a bit odd - at least in name. This is the full list I like the idea, but perhaps should be give to countries without representation AT ALL?
  22. Well, they have a clear qualification rules, although one can oppose to it...
  23. I understood now. First of all, Australia rejected its quota on the Oceania championhsips. Then the quotas went to the Developing Nations Program, not the Emerging Nations Program....
  24. I wonder if there will be more races apart from medal race? If so, we could see changes
