Qualification Tracker

Test

  1. Ah, I get it now. Very confusing on paper, but once the qualification is underway it will make sense. But would the reallocation quotas would go to which event? Or is possible that rowing does not take the full 438 athletes? It would be interesting to have an 8+ with at least... eight nations.
  2. Hey everyone, how are you all? Reading the qualification document here and the "3 quotas for additional coxswain" is very confusing to me. Can someone (try to) explain to me please how those quotas will be assigned? Thank you so much
  3. Yeah and what we will see mainly will be cis athletes that will not be able to compete. It's easy to ban a couple of trans athletes. But it will not be easy to decide on which DSD athletes should compete and why (I'm pretty certain some nationalities will be favored). I'm sure a lot of "feminine" athletes will have a hidden gene and some curious cases will emerge.
  4. This was discussed on the press conference, the athletes would have 'opportunities' to do the test in other countries during tournaments.
  5. Social media from IOC is already invaded by bots that post Russian stuff, saying they are best friends with Putin, etc all the time, is unbearable. I think they are used to it
  6. I think IOC took advantage of the timing to take this decision for sure. It brings a good rep with the US government and kind of 'passes the blame' as well for any issue. I don't think they liked all that talk from Paris as well. Total speculation here, but wouldn't be surprised if this was or could be used as leverage to future decisions (Russia's return, making sure all athletes-delegations are there), although this is very naïve.
  7. Qualification system is out: https://t.co/aMH5OBYcJv Very similar to the one in Paris 2024. The ranking will go from June 11th 2026 until June 11th 2028; the 44 best (max 6 per country) on March 31 will move on to the next phase. The park events will be featured on the OQS, while other events will distribute the same number of points on street.
  8. I wonder if Maduro was watching it and if they wouldn't take him to see the final if Venezuela reaches it
  9. Totally. but we can also say it was super odd that Japan and Korea had to fly around the world to play in 3 days difference. I understand it was amazing for part of the first round to be played there: Nippon had full house, it made it easier for Korean, Taiwanese and Australian fans... but perhaps 3 days was a short notice for that.
  10. woow Ohtani is back! omg..
  11. hahaha no anti-jinx in reverse please hahaha
  12. I love you Ohtani, but rooting for Venezuela today, so arigato!
  13. I think they should include a bronze medal and 5th-8th playoffs. It would be the most fair, for sure.
  14. ahh got it. Thanks <3 How about Venezuela? Just in case they lose by 3 in a full game and also reach 15-135
  15. But hasn't both Canada and Puerto Rico suffered 15 runs in 135 allowed? Sorry if i'm being too stupid, baseball is not my strongest sport.
  16. ahhh finally we have something official!!!! Thanks
  17. Not sure if I'm nagging too much on this, but this actually regards ONLY to a first round tiebreaker. Even on the webpage of MLB referenced by this article it clearly says: "Pool Play and Tie-Breaking Procedures: First Round" it does't say anything regarding FINAL STANDINGS. My take on this is that MLB probably doesn't care much for that and it didn't realise it would be so important fot Olympic qualification (if so: they're stupid, for sure). If we had a clear rule, the MLB it would already have posted something regarding that...
  18. I don't see how it does...
  19. Well, I guess now we can officially say that Dominican Republic has qualified, without any questions.
  20. so at this point, we have: Puerto Rico - 15/135 = 0.111 Canada - 15/135 = 0.111 (locked) Venezuela - 12/108 = 0.111 Although I'm not even sure if this is the right tie-breaker...
  21. At this poin, I'm just hoping Venezuela wins so the second spot is "well-earned".
  22. Actually this is specifically for a group tie-breaker. I'm not sure if it will be used to rank 5-8th. In case it is, Canada has 24, Puerto Rico 15 (21 now), Venezuela 26 (in case it also reaches 15/135)
  23. wait, actually, if Puerto Rico loses now with 8 innings and 24 outs, it would TIE Canada, right? Both going to 15/135. Then what?
  24. I'm still not entirely sure what would happen if only 1 qualifies to the SF. Hoping World Baseball makes it crystal clear...
  25. So, Venezuela (3) and Mexico (4) have the advantage, right
