  1. Not official, but from my calculations LIAO Guifang Olivia Lynn REEVES Angie Paola PALACIOS DAJOMES Loredana-Elena TOMA Vanessa SARNO PALOMAR Neama Said Fahmi SAID Mari Leivis SANCHEZ PERINAN CHEN Wen-Huei ()Siuzanna VALODZKA Marie Josephe FEGUE Jacqueline NICHELE As Fegue will probably get the quota on 86 (or even as Host Nation quota), the 11th would get the quota. Joy Ogobonne EZE did an amazing job on Group C to lift 239kg total. On the waiting list, both with 238kg. I think China will not accept this one in the end Amanda DA COSTA SCHOTT Yeniuska MIRABAL FERIA and then, with 236kg (but I guess she can not get an universality quota, because this category will be a HN, right?) Eyglo Fanndal STURLUDOTTIR
  2. North Macedonia could have its first Olympic quota!
  3. For now Oceania has 4 men and 2 women with the quota, but New Zealand has a good shot of qualifying the women directly so would get a 5th male quota. Therefore, women from Oceania, come!!! (or not, because it could help Brazil to go with an extra athlete hahaha) We will have a Tahiti Open, I imagine many pacific countries will show up and get the 10 quotas
  4. But wait, is the 49kg quota good? I tried to find anything in the Documents regarding that but could not find it
  5. So sad to see the Dutch Monk out https://olympics.com/en/news/tyrone-sterkenburg-buddhist-monk-model-wrestling-influencer
  6. That's where I'm not fully clear. Let's say that France has a quota on 59kg and 81kg. They will choose a host nation of 71kg most probably. If I'm not mistaken So I think @MHSNis right because IWF would have to choose which category between 81 and 59 to give a ranking quota and which to give universality. Do you think they would look at who would get the rankings quota and who would get the Universality quota (Malta or Lebanon?) and decide?
  7. So, in the 59kg, the 11th athlete (Taylor Wilkins) would get the quota, right?
  8. to put in objective terms, universality quotas are for countries with less than an average of 8 athletes in individual sports on the last 2 Olympics.
  9. So, please walk me through the French case. They currently have one athlete in the 59kg and Fegue who now would qualify both in 71kg and 81kg. 2 French participated in 59kg, Vicky Graillot is slotted for 71kg and Fegue is going to compete in 76kg. First of all, Fegue has to choose, right? I guess she would go to 81kg so Vicky Graillot can be selected on 71kg, along someone from 59kg. If my thinking proves correct, then French would use HC from 59kg and 71kg and Universality would go to 49kg, 81kg and +81kg? by the way, the universality slots would go to the eligible athletes with higher ranking or not necessariy? thanks
  10. Swimswam released a list with 9 men and 3 women. Besided the 10 listed above (albeit the number 9 on the title lol) it includes Kim Jihoon (M) and Hur Yeonkyng (W for the mixed relay) Not really sure why they would not take a 4th to the 4x200m freestyle (KIM Younghyeon). Who would be the 4th?
  11. hey guys, I'm pretty sure Portugal lost its dinghy quota, according to the World Sailing document!
  12. I don't think it was posted here, but last year World Triathlon announced some of the first qualifiers. Matt Hauser Manoel Messias Csongor Lehmann Alex Yee (video) Beth Potter Lasse Luhrs Laura Lindemann (video) Lisa Tertsch Nina Eim Tim Hellwig Rachel Klamer Morgan Pearson Taylor Knibb (video)
  13. I wonder if there would be anything preventing from 3 (or even 2) athletes from the same country
  14. thank you so much! i'm assuming on the 58 is ? or one could be ?
  15. yeah and officially they were not supposed to be a part of the team, unless they were officially changed before... at list in Tokyo was like that! but some countries competed with 4 athletes, so i don't know much hahaha
  16. but can she get a minimum while she was competing for another country and transfer to Poland? And her change of nationality needs to be approved on the june (or july?) EC-IOC meeting right?
  17. yeah... the main issue now for fencing, I guess, is to allow officially 4 fencers per team as they had during the rotation system - glad it's over, obviously. Based on Tokyo results, the 4th athlete CAN in fact join the team, but somehow they are not treated officially as Olympians as I understand (I'm not entirely sure on that!). We could obviously envision one competition with 48 athletes on the draw, but not sure how that's realistic.
  18. Have no idea why they are identified as EUROPE, but as far as I know both live in Mexico
  19. they are the only ones with OQT. Provided that Russian swimmers swim in international events, I think they will go
  20. clearly stated does not mean much hahaha but yeah, i think anyway they would be given WC so it would be an extra.
  21. I think some AIN athletes could benefit from that. I can see they giving out 4 tripartite and 4 AIN quotas or something like that.
  22. and i don't get how a country with 2 of the 5 best athletes in the world can't get a reasonable team.
  23. Just coming back here because although it is very clear that Hugo Catrileo should be qualified, I don't think they are counting with that. Athletics have a bunch of extra quotas, he should get one...
  24. Sad for her, but I don't get the whole idea of "let's change the system because of one specific case". The Olympics is also about have more nations represented. Having said that, I would like to see a bigger fencing draw, like 48? And then we could have a rule of "if you are in top10 you can have 2 individual athletes qualified", like in Badminton for instance or tennis doubles
