  1. Not saying you’re talking about me, but it would be freaking hilarious if Saunders talked about US sweeping the Olympic podium (obviously not gonna happen now) only to miss the Olympic final herself Women’s shot put is a wide open field of course, and it wasn’t impossible, but come on. It’s not like Lyles, who has backed up his talk, time and time again (besides the WR’s bit)
  2. That changeover from TT Terry to Thomas was horrific, my goodness.
  3. Sophia Jensen and Katie Vincent straight through to the semifinals in women’s C1-200m!
  4. Chase Jackson out Edit: Wow, I’m in shock.
  5. Cartwright out in the women’s 100m hurdles repechages Clipped the second hurdle which ruined all of her momentum.
  6. Jackson with two X’s in women’s shot put qualification. In some serious trouble here.
  7. Seeing Saunders never fails to make me laugh
  8. One and done! Sarah Mitton through to the women’s shot put final! 19.77m!
  9. Weissenberg injured in warmups, super heartbreaking
  10. Skylar Park defeats Hronkova 2-0 in the women’s 57kg taekwondo round of 16!
  11. @Gianlu33 Canada has won medals on two consecutive days now

No track cycling/wrestling, I could use multiple streams but if I do more than two (at most) I always feel like I’m missing something.
  13. Four medal chances tomorrow, although we could just as easily end up with none. Maude Charron in women’s 59kg weightlifting is our best chance, followed by Skylar Park in women’s 57kg taekwondo, but I’d also give chances to Kelsey Mitchell/Lauriane Genest in women’s keirin and Dylan Bibic in men’s omnium.
  14. I know all of you are getting sick of me, this will be the last post for now I promise v. for gold, and v. for bronze
  15. v. for gold, and an all African bronze medal match with v.
  16. Women’s Semifinals Clancy/Mariafe v. Duda/Ana Patricia Hüberli/Brunner v. Humana-Parades/Wilkerson Men’s Semifinals Ehlers/Wickler v. Mol/Sørum Åhman/Hellvig v. Cherif/Ahmed
  17. Biased referee, who has been making shit calls in favor of the French all tournament long.
  18. Today was a much better day for Canada overall, even though there was less events going on, and a couple of major (and not so major) disappointments too. Alysha Newman won a somewhat surprising (I knew she had it in her, just didn’t think she could pull it together at the Olympics) bronze in women’s pole vault with a NR of 4.85m, Melissa Humana-Parades/Brandie Wilkerson swept Alvarez/Moreno to advance to the semifinals in women’s beach volleyball, Sarah Douglas finished 3rd in the medal race to record a top 8 in women’s ICLA6, Michelle Russell (women’s K1-500m) and Connor Fitzpatrick (men’s C1-1000m) both advanced to the semifinals, Kelsey Mitchell and Lauriane Genest both through to the quarterfinals in women’s keirin, and although Josipa Kafadar lost 0-2 to Stojkovic in the women’s 49kg round of 16 it was a valiant effort. Unfortunately, we had a few bad results today too, and a couple were medal contenders Andre DeGrasse failing to qualify for the men’s 200m final is at least somewhat understandable as he re-aggravated his hamstring injury, but no excuses for Mo Ahmed (not as if DeGrasse’s was an excuse, but you get what I mean) as he got clipped from out in front. Edit: Oh and also our teams flopping in track cycling.
