Qualification Tracker

Everything posted by Josh

  1. Women’s field hockey team loses their bronze medal match 2-0 to host-nation Chile.
  2. Phil Wizard qualifies for Paris, signifying our first (and hopefully last ) appearance in breaking. United States isn’t eligible for a quota, as they already qualified one athlete through World Championships (and the second quota can only be obtained though the OQS)
  3. Phil Wizard qualifies for Paris in men’s breaking!
  4. Pan American Record for Ethan Katzberg in the men’s hammer throw final! 80.02m in R1!
  5. 0-5 in team fencing gold medal matches so far. Probably 0-6 after we lose to United States in men’s team sabre. What a joke.
  6. I’ve just noticed Canada has downgraded on most of their team sport results. In Lima 2019, Canada won gold in women’s rugby, silver in men’s rugby, men’s field hockey, women’s field hockey, women’s waterpolo, men’s waterpolo. Now, at Santiago 2023, silver in women’s rugby, silver in women’s waterpolo, bronze in men’s rugby, and either bronze or 4th in men’s waterpolo and women’s field hockey. At least we’re on the podium again.
  7. Silver in women’s rugby sevens after a 19-12 loss to United States. Disappointing.
  8. Philip Kim advances to the semifinals in men’s breaking
  9. Yeah quite unsurprising actually. She’ll most likely lose her semifinal though.
  10. 153rd medal, and with that we’ve overtaken our Lima 2019 total!
  11. Silver for Yamina Lahyanssa in women’s -50kg karate! Very tight 5-2 loss to Venezuela’s Yorgelis Salzar in the final.
  12. Men’s rugby team wins bronze with a narrow 19-17 win over United States!
  13. Athletics results are all wrong
  14. Men’s hammer throw final results
  15. 12th round doesn’t fare as well for Lavoie.
  16. Gaby Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe through to the women’s doubles semifinals at the WTA Finals with a perfect 3-0 record
  17. has qualified their first athlete in sailing (women’s laser radial) via Adriana Penruddocke at the Pan American Games!
  18. Good chance for a male medal in artistic gymnastics, judo, swimming, basketball, tennis and boxing. Maybe even wrestling or archery.
  19. As for quotas, it’s an easy one, our women’s volleyball team. As for medalists, it’s quite unlikely, but probably our men’s volleyball team. If we played like we did in the Olympic Qualifiers, we might have a chance at a minor medal. Other ones would be FAA in men’s singles tennis (without 2022 RG I wouldn’t be including him), and Erin Brooks in women’s shortboard surfing (but she’ll need to get her citizenship in time to compete at the 2024 ISA Surf Games) Edit: Another qualification hope is our men’s epee team and our men’s waterpolo team, but again quite unlikely. @rafalgorka
  20. Women’s squash team through to the gold medal match!
