  1. Just bought a ticket for the Vancouver 2023 Laver Cup ticket ended up costing me 483$, but I got pretty solid seating so well worth it IMO. Super super excited, my first time ever getting to watch a professional tennis match live. Really hope the matches are good that session. (I personally am hoping for FAA v. Meddy, but anything other than a Kyrgios match would be fine with me. He’s an entertaining player, but I don’t like his antics.)
  2. 2023 Mixed Doubles Curling World Championships: April 22- April 29, 2023 | Gangneung, Korea Bronze Medal Match 6 - 2 Norway win bronze at the 2023 WMDCC! Sad to see no World Championship gold medals (Yet again) for Canada in the three Olympic disciplines, but just goes to show that other nations are getting better. Shoutout to our senior teams though, Team Rajala and Team Anderson both took home gold for Canada, so at least we have that going for us Full Results Here

  5. Another WR went down at IFSC Speed World Cup in Seoul, Korea, as Aleksandra Miroslaw clocked a 6.25, breaking her existing WR four times in the process (Her previous WR was 6.53, which means she shaved 0.28 off today). Miroslaw’s first WR at this event came during the first qualification round (6.46), then broke it again during the second qualification round (6.37), then lowered it in semifinals (6.35), and the finals (6.25). Really excited to see what she can do in Paris. https://www.eurosport.co.uk/climbing/she-can-t-be-stopped-aleksandra-miroslaw-sets-world-record-to-win-speed-final_vid1903802/video.shtml
  6. 4.90 WR for Veddriq Leonardo at the IFSC Speed Climbing World Cup in Seoul, Korea. First man in sport climbing history to ever break the five-second-barrier. What’s even more impressive is the fact that Veddriq did it not once, not twice, but three times during the competition. 4.98 during the qualification round, 4.90 during the quarterfinals and 4.93 during the semifinal. In the final, he stuttered near the end, and ended up clocking a 5.01.
  7. From April 26-30, Congonhas, Brazil is hosting the 2023 COPACI Mountain Biking Championships, an Olympic qualifier. One quota will be available to each of the men’s/women’s elite race winners. Should they qualify through other pathways, their quota would be reallocated. Also awarded, are important ranking points that count towards Paris 2024 qualification. Now, for the men’s/women’s elite previews. In the men’s elite race, fourth ranked Martín Vidaurre (CHI) will be the favourite for the quota, however he won’t have it all his own way, as tenth ranked Henrique Da Silva Avancini (BRA), and twentieth ranked Jose Gerardo (MEX) are capable of defeating him. Notably, nineteenth ranked Carter Woods (CAN) is absent from the men’s elite field, instead choosing to compete in the men’s U23 race. In the women’s elite race, seventh ranked Kate Courtney (USA) will be the favourite for the title, but twenty second ranked Raiza Goulao Henrique (BRA), and thirty sixth ranked Emily Batty (CAN) could perhaps stage an upset. The opening ceremony of the 2023 COPACI Mountain Biking Championships took place on April 26, with the first event (mixed team relay) happening a few hours prior. April 27, the men’s/women’s elite XCE races took place, along with the infantojuvenil (12-14) and juvenil (15-16) men’s/women’s XCO races. Women’s masters race, and the men’s/women’s elite XCC races are on April 28, while the junior (17-18) men’s/women’s XCO races, and the men’s masters races take place on April 29. On April 30, the main events occur, with the men’s/women’s U23, and the men’s/women’s elite races. 15. What a great rally between Schneider/Sude and Wang/Xia at the Uberlandia Elite16
  16. Well to be fair, half of Team Hasselborg was pregnant during Worlds, so a 4th place finish is still pretty good. Team Edin got drawn against Team Gushue in the playoff qualification round, and also the team Sweden sent for MD Worlds… not their strongest I would say

  24. Issam Asinga 9.83 (2.6m/s) 100m at the Pure Athletics Spring Invitational Young rising star to keep an eye out for on the road to Paris 2024. Issam has not yet decided which country he will be competing for internationally, with his options being United States, Suriname and Zambia. His dad, Tommy Asinga, holds the national record for Suriname over 400m, 800m and 1500m. Here’s a link to the race https://twitter.com/travismillerx13/status/1650295676620750852?s=46&t=Ttq53JR4XTfuqqmYe6kI9w
  25. https://panxcobrasil2023.com/site/pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/LISTA-COMPLETA-XCO.pdf So I’m looking at the squad for Canada, and it’s pretty much our A team. Don’t know why Carter Woods is competing in the U23 race though, his world ranking is 19 and with this being an Olympic Qualifier he would’ve had a fair shot at a quota.
