  1. playing right now. 25-22 first set for Canada.

  3. Well of course I would love to see a Canadian doing well Both of them [Kim/Mijatovic] have been breaking age-group NAGs left and right, and if their success continues into their senior years, it'll make for some great battles at the World Champs/Olympics. BTW Forgot to mention Kayla Han, and Kaii Winkler. (There's almost certainly more, but can't think of any off the top of my head.)
  4. Yes, Africa has to be represented in each of the volleyball competitions at Paris 2024.
  5. Olyslagers right back to writing in her notebook after a 2.00 clearance , as she does every attempt, good or bad. For those of you who missed it, watch here:
  6. has qualified their first athlete in archery (men's individual) via Dan Olaru at the 2023 European Games
  7. How about the combined 21 blocks from Canada. Maglio- 8 White- 4 Van Ryk- 3 Howe- 3 Gray- 2 King- 1 44 points between Gray (25) and Van Ryk (19) as well.
  8. I'm assuming the reason why Dressel is here is because he's trying to get some races in. And yesterday, good to see him showing some signs of form placing 3rd in the 50FL. Today, he placed 9th in prelims in the 100FL, but Murph scratched and now Dressel is into the A-Final. It's looking increasingly likely for Liendo to win the event at Worlds, the only other contender for gold (As Milak isn't competing, and Dressel/Casas aren't in good form) is Grousset. Really hoping he can make the team, and start to regain his form quickly, he's one of my favorite swimmers so it sucks to see him struggling.
  9. Week 2 done, not very happy with Canada's results/how they've been playing. They played two pre-tournament exhibition matches against powerhouse Brazil, and played really well to beat them in the first, before dropping the second. Gave me high hopes for them heading into VNL. But VNL has been disastrous for us so far, 2-6 and now our chance at Olympic qualification is starting to look unlikely. We played well against Cuba (Five-set win), Japan (Four-set loss), and France (Three-set loss) but other than that (Particularly our match against Germany's B team) Sammelvuo needs to integrate more creative ways of offense in his coaching, it's mainly hard swings, and they're pretty error prone too. Also, we need to improve on side out, too many easy digs by our opponents. Currie is legit (Easily our best defensive player), Schwarz, Maar, Demyanenko, and Sclater have all been playing really well. Ever since Tokyo 2020, Hoag has proved time and time again why he shouldn't be a starter. Howe, Vernon-Evans, and Loeppky are all absent from the squad, probably choosing to sit this tournament out, as I can't imagine they wouldn't have been chosen.
  10. Actually, we're 20.02 points away (And behind GER/DOM). Host nation quota goes to Let's say the top 6 qualify through the OQT. World rankings prioritize continents not already qualified, so will most likely qualify (IMO they're the top African nation) then there's four countries qualified by top ranked eligible NOCs. are almost certainly safe, with currently occupying the final two qualification spots. Germany currently has 253.49 points, but Dominican Republic and Canada are not that far behind with 249.65 and 233.47 points respectively, one or two wins would put us in a great position to be in an Olympic qualifying position.

  13. Great HJ competiton, although was expecting more from Mahuchikh (By her high standards, she probably was too).
  14. Gerashchenko with a 2.00 for second, and Mahuchikh with a 1.97 for third. Olyslagers asks for the bar to go up to 2.05 but is unsuccessful on all three of her attempts.
  15. Olyslagers clears 2.02 (=AR which she set on route to winning silver at Tokyo 2020) on her second attempt @dullard
  16. Women's high jump at Lausanne DL started about an hour ago. Olyslagers and Geraschenko both up and over 2.00 on their first attempt. Mahuchikh passing at 2.00 after failing to clear it on her first attempt, with the bar now raised to 2.02.

  21. Lowered my PB in LCM 100FR to 54.80 yesterday 1.74s drop on my previous best of 56.54, really happy with that race. Next up, sub 54!
