  13. Lucca Mesinas qualifies for Paris in men’s shortboard! 3 golds and 2 bronzes for Peru in surfing so far, with the SUP races still to come.
  14. Injuries, and retirements playing factor in our performance. Kyra Christmas (was one of our top scorers) retired in August. As for roster absences, they’re missing (another top scorer) in Shae La Roche, who’s recovering from a knee injury.
  15. 3-0 up to 6-12 down. Doesn’t look like it.
  16. Dylan French gets one back over Cuba’s Dariel Carrion, winning 15-10 to advance to the men’s epee quarterfinals!
  17. Hate the format for fencing. Playing until one reaches 5 instead of the usual 15?? Edit: Just realized it was for group stage only.
  18. Shady El Nahas advanced to the men’s -100kg gold medal match in judo, after a 5-0 victory over Brazil’s Leonardo Goncalves!
  19. Brazil continue to rack up the gold medals… and are now in 2nd, overtaking Mexico. Not totally unsurprising though, they’re sending an A-team in pretty much all sports.
  20. Bronze in mixed doubles table tennis for Eugene Wang/Mo Zhang!
  21. Mixed Doubles Quotas:
  22. Sanoa Olin advances to the gold medal heat in women’s shortboard, thus booking her ticket to Paris, as the other finalist Tatiana Weston-Webb has already qualified! First time Canada will compete in surfing at the Olympics!
  23. Finn Spencer wins bronze in men’s SUP surfing!
  24. Pan Am Games, Pan Continental Curling Championships (all of Canada’s games for sure, and maybe a couple more), NHL (again, mainly Canucks), NBA (mainly GSW), NFL (mainly Bills), some club season volleyball, WTA Finals, ATP Paris Masters 1000, and BPT Challenge Haikou
