  2. Mo Zhang/Eugene Wang advance to the semifinals in mixed doubles table tennis after a narrow 4-3 victory over Mexico, and are now one win away from qualifying Canada for Paris!
  3. Starting tomorrow’s thread early so I don’t have to do it later.
  4. Silver for Alex Baldoni in men’s kayak cross!
  5. Back-to-back titles at the Basel Open for Felix Auger-Aliassime! Hoping he can keep his good form heading into the upcoming tournaments, hasn’t been having the best of seasons so far.
  6. Lindsay Traisnel wins bronze in individual eventing as well!
  7. Canada qualifies a full team in equestrian eventing through the Pan Am Games!
  8. Equestrian eventing team wins gold!
  9. Sad that Marino lost her semifinal match yesterday, her path to Paris (likely would be her final Olympics) is looking very slim now.
  10. Agree about Evan Dunfee being a medal contender, and wouldn’t be surprised to see him win gold, but I could see him just as easily miss the podium. All of the top race Pan Am race walkers are competing (Hurtado, Bonfim, Pintado)

  12. More medal events than yesterday, but still not as busy as earlier in the week.
  13. So an update on the men’s/women’s shortboard events: In women’s shortboard, Tatiana Weston Webb has advanced to the final (and has assured herself a guaranteed silver medal) where she’ll face the winner of Sanoa Olin v. Leilani McGonagle (both are guaranteed at least bronze). As Tatiana has already qualified for Paris through the WSL Championship Tour, the heat between Olin and McGonagle is a direct battle for a Paris quota. In men’s shortboard, Francisco Bellorin (guaranteed at least silver) has advanced to the final, with the winner of Lucca Mesinas and Miguel Tudela (both are guaranteed at least bronze) joining him. As none of these athletes have secured an Olympic quota yet, whoever wins the gold medal match will qualify themselves for Paris.
  14. Canada qualifies two more boats in sailing (women’s kite and women’s skiff) through the Pan Am Games!
  15. Cuba and US aren’t qualified in women’s windsurfing.
  16. @Topicmaster1010@intoronto
  17. I’m looking at the entries in sailing, and Canada and US are the only North American countries competing in women’s skiff. US has already secured a (Paris) quota through World Championships, and there’s one more available for North America through here. On that basis, I believe Canada has qualified for the Paris in this event?
  18. No Paris ticket for Rebecca Marino after a semifinal loss in women’s singles to Argentina’s Lourdes Carle (all she needed to do was win), but she’ll probably qualify anyways.
  19. Day 8 (October 28, 2023) Canadian Schedule Sailing schedule not out yet. Robin Sergio Jara Arana Medal will also be awarded, but all judo medal matches are scattered all over the place so decided not to include them. Tennis 7:00 PST/10:00 EST: Women’s Singles Semifinals- Rebecca Marino v. Lourdes Carle
  20. Mel/Brandie win silver after a 2-0 loss against Brazil’s AP/Duda. Unfortunately couldn’t catch the majority of the match.
  21. Sanoa Olin advances from repechage round 5, ensuring herself a medal!
  22. Cody Young fails to medal after some last second heroics by Peru’s Lucca Mesinas.
  23. Team results from today carry over? @dcro
