Entries for Götzis (May 18-19) are now out. No LePage, or any Canadian heptathletes, but reigning Olympic champion Damian Warner will be competing in the decathlon. Hoping for at least 8800 points at this point of the season. If you compare his decathlon results from 2021, you’ll probably want it to be even better than that though, he recorded 8995 points at this event on route to his 9018 points at the Ariake Stadium. Edit: There’s been entry lists going around but the organizers of Gotzis have said it didn’t come from them so I’m not sure. Hopefully we’ll have a couple more athletes.

Entries are out for the Doha Diamond League, which is on May 10. Kieran Lumb will attempt to breach the OQS of 3:33.50 in the men’s 1500m (Although his PB is about a second off, his SB is more than ten seconds off, so it doesn’t seem likely), while Aaron Brown will be racing in the men’s 200m. Brown ran really well during the World Athletics Relays, so I’m hoping for sub 20.10.

There’s absolutely no excuse for South Africa losing to Kenya, they should’ve won their continental championships. Don’t blame the qualification system for that.

There’s other events where they can achieve a timed place, but that seems like the most likely bet.

On the plus side, Ayorinde had a great run. Misner-Daley had another stinker, Arop wasn’t great either. Robinson, Arop, Morales-Williams, Ayorinde squad for an upcoming event for relay qualification I’m assuming. Never mind, no chance.

World Athletics Relays thread. Germany got a medical exemption for one of their athletes, and got another switched out, so no chance for Canada to qualify here.

I think this can all be avoided if they made the scheduling better for the mixed and men’s/women’s 4x400m relays.
