  1. Good luck for the 4th consecutive Olympic gold medal!
  2. Impressive France in the first two quarters.
  3. Well, the dream sequel of this is almost over. 2nd round, 1st leg: Panevezys - Jagiellonia 0-4 Bodo/Glimt - RFS 4-0 Close to zero chances for another over the border clash.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEb3Kreg5W0 Best I can come up with: highlights But I guess you've already seen it.
  5. Well, it should matter that it's a shot with the intention to score. If things continue to go like this in this fast football we have today, we'll have more own goals than goals sometime in the future.
  6. Deflections, deflections. However, it doesn't feel right the current decision on who scored the goal. I think then when it is about today's goal, the credit should be given to Kolo Mouani as he shoots toward goal. No matter how good or bad. On the other hand, yesterday's own goal of Le Normand should stay as own goal because the ball was not shot on goal and the cross was intended for the forward. I think things should be this simple.
  7. I can't go to Paris for a number of reasons and I hope (it's not up to me unless I decide for a NO) I won't have my right knee operated those very days. Anyway, I'll cheer for my country, of course and maybe watch as much as I could team sports, athletics, swimming and gymnastics. I'd like to extend that to equestrian, canoeing, rowing, sailing and triathlon, regardless if there is a Romanian athlete involved or not. As for cheering for other countries' athletes, I've always had my "crushes" like Guatemala, Curacao, Guyana, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uganda, Botswana and many others. Rooting for the "small" countries in essence.
  8. Second yellow card obtained by Doku was not that obvious as the first.
  9. So far Italians interested more in stepping on Swiss feet. Now you need a referee like Kovács.
  10. Very poor defence from the Netherlands. I don't see any surprises from them, even if I wished that.
  11. Of course, anything is possible but it's hard for me to see Georgia being any trouble for Portugal. I'd rather bet of Weghorst becoming the top goalscorer coming as substitute in every single match up to the final.
  12. Anyone fancy this scenario? Denmark beats Serbia, England "destroy" Slovenia (sorry for our Slovenian users), Turkye beats Czechia and Cristiano Ronaldo help Portugal beating Georgia by scoring at least a brace. Thus Modric' Croatia goes on.
  13. After heroically defending , we succomb to a Casteels decisive pass.
  14. There were close relations in the Medieval times when both countries (well Romania was split in 3 voivodeships) fought Turkye to preserve their independence. As Bulgaria fell under Ottoman rule at the end of the 14th century, Romanians finally earned their independence from Turks in 1878 while fighting them on Bulgarian soil. However after interviening in the Balkan Wars (1913) against Bulgaria and in favor of the other Balkan countries, Romania was given southern Dobrogea, which fueled Bulgarian strong feelings against Romania until 1940 when that territory was given back to Bulgaria. Apart from some rivalry that exist as between neighbours, at present day it seems the relations tend to get closer as both countries have same political objectives like successful integration in EU.
  15. Antoni Kowalski looking to get the same achievement and reach the main tour in the final of the qualifying school 2 event today.
  16. Kolkata Knight Riders wins this year IPL impressively beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets: 114/2 (10.3) Vs 113/10 (18.3). Rajasthan Royals ended their road in the semifinals to the Sunrisers after defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the last team qualified for the playoffs.
  17. So, today's final marks Switzerland 's fourth attempt to win the Championship having failed so far , a journey which started in 1935 when they were runners-up to Canada. I wonder if they write history today. Being no expert in ice hockey I sense a huge sympathy for the Czechs tough. I also wonder if YouTube let me watch it, the last match free to watch for me was in the group stage...
  18. I dare say Aitana Bonmati is the best female player in the world at this moment.
  19. Team sports for me this week: Football UEFA Europa League final today UEFA Women's Champions League final Romanian league system playoffs and playouts (1st to 3rd divisions) AFC Champions final 2nd leg (routing for Al Ain) I'll try to get live action also from CAF Champions League final 2nd leg Handball EHF European League final four Basketball Euro league final four Ice Hockey World Championship semis and final Cricket IPL playoffs and final - but chances to watch that is close to zero. @Josh you're an inspiration
  20. With South Korea beating Slovenia which is a surprise for me and Hungary beating Japan (normal result) looks like Romania will once more fight for survival against Japan. If no other surprises occur. Romania is already trailing the hosts Italy 1-4 after the 2nd period.
  21. All matches are live on YouTube.
  22. Women Handball Olympic qualifiers and Women Basketball Euroleague Final Four semis today (both on YouTube)
  23. Concacaf Women Gold Cup quarter finals and Pakistan Super League cricket for me this weekend. Rest of the time needed for 😴 so I pretty much missed anything else.
  24. Concacaf Women's Gold Cup tonight. Watched Paraguay upset Costa Rica with a pace change in 2nd half and right now crowed supported El Salvador tries to get something out of their match against Canada in Group C fixture in Houston . PS: Canada only needed a few minutes while I post this, to increase its advantage to 3-0 so I guess no more a contest this match.
