  1. Yeah, that is quite a surprise overall. Our women's handball has regressed since the 2010s. Or maybe Spanish women's handball isn't as good as I thought.
  2. / Ilke Wyludda (discus) passed away at the age of 55.
  3. Former snooker World Champion Terry Griffiths passed away at the age of 77.
  4. Botafogo won Copa Libertadores despite having a player send off after 30 seconds of the final
  5. Shiffrin will not race in the slalom tomorrow.
  6. Bears HC Matt Eberflus has been fired. It was always the case that if something goes wrong with Caleb Williams development Eberflus would be the first to go and QB has actually improved after a shaky September but the current losing streak if hilariously bad given the circumstances (Hail Mary, blocked FG and the Lions debacle). It's the first time Bears have fired a coach mid-season and they are in the league since the very start (1920).
  7. Bears "forgot" they had a timeout left and executed one play in 33 seconds so they didn't even kick a FG to force overtime. Clown show...
  8. They filed an appeal in the Sinner case and then went to CAS as well. This is still ongoing while Sinner keeps playing (until the season ended anyway) and there is zero noise he might get a significant additional ban if any. So it's basically lawyers exchanging papers to make their money. I expect the same will happen with Świątek
  9. I don't think so. Sinner got away without extra punishment so Świątek probably will too. I mean even Polish experts on TV said trimetazydyne acts like a "new" meldonium in all honesty
  10. build a big lead vs in the first half. Totally expected tbh
  11. Yeah, tennis is notorious for silent bans.
  12. Aleksandra Kałucka has moved full-time to Edinburgh (Scotland) where she will study mathematics
  13. No surprise with Aaron Judge winning AL MVP and Shohei Ohtani winning NL MVP awards. Ohtani is the second player in history to win MVP in both leagues. Frank Robinson (1961 Reds & 1966 Orioles) was the only one before.
  14. men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
  15. Ali Gholizadeh with another league goal today @MHSN
  16. Maximilian Ortner on a World Cup podium? Didn't have this guy on my bingo card
  17. Ok, so I guess federation didn't want to create special rules for a single athlete no matter how promising she is but overall they have mismanaged it more IMO. It's rather obvious any parent will always support their child first. I'm sure there could have been an agreement to return some loans in the future especially that those "private" contracts like Red Bull were always more probable to happen plus the entire exposure hype with the next WOG in Italy.
  18. Looks like the gate malfunctioned and Eriksen Sundal was literally pushed by the ad board
  19. Well, we lived through Caroline Wozniacki representing Denmark and there was some talk if she could switch to Poland early on but she said no since she lived her entire life in Denmark anyway. But she was very popular here. On the other side Angelique Kerber who also has Polish ancestry actually lived in Poland on her grandfather's estate (which was a tennis academy). In the last few years except Eugenia Bujak (cycling) switching to Slovenia due to a conflict with the federation we don't really have such cases. I can understand many Italians have their opinion on Colturi & her mother alas it's boosted by the lack of other top end prospects in your skiing now (and some other winter sports). I'm surprised Italian journalists haven't figured out what's behind Colturi's switch already because it has to be money or "personal differences" either way.
  20. Well, it was to be expected that Colturi was going to have a breakout result like that sooner or later and the state of Italian alpine skiing will create some very long faces. But hey, if Italy let their "best" prospect walk because of money then it's their fault. If there was some personal feud between Ceccarelli & federation it's even worse.
  21. Yes, though it's not related to ski jumping?
  22. It's debatable and I can name a few with a higher grade
  23. It sure looks like Konderla will have more success on Instagram than on the hills again
  24. Camila Giorgi has a new BF Ramiro Marra. Apparently he's some politician/journalist from Argentina. One of Milei's supporters dare I say? @LDOG@konig
  25. Daniel Huber picked up a kee injury during training at Lillehammer. Piotr Żyła will skip the season opener because of a knee injury too.
