  1. Sweden beat Poland 3-0 and by all accounts we played much worse than in the Germany game. Well, these results aren't a surprise, together with Wales we're the biggest outsiders who even qualified for these finals.
  2. Germany recover from a goal down to beat Denmark 2-1. Now it's time for Sweden vs Poland and once again our target is look competitive and maybe score a goal with some luck
  3. Yeah, she had some very bad meltdowns like that vs Fernandez in Indian Wells and then the Madrid flop vs Rus so she took a break but she did some painting and attended college unlike some others who basically spend time sunbathing (i.e. Andreescu). And quite clearly this is her best twelve month stretch but she took full advantage of that Toronto final run last summer which boosted her ranking by over 80 places. Her attitude was always the biggest obstacle, nobody's denied her talent and quite frankly she's probably the best ball-striker on tour alas as it's often the case in pro sports, it's mostly determined between the ears.
  4. Amanda Anisimova beats Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1 7-6(9) in the second QF and makes her second GS SF after Roland Garros 2019 (when she was only 17yo).
  5. Aryna Sabalenka squeaks by Laura Siegemund 6-4 in the third. Siegemund served for 5-3 but choked. Terrible quality from both hehe.
  6. Then again I kinda expected more from Portugal as well. They almost eliminated USA in group stage of the last World Cup (hit the post in 90th minute) yet they got completely overrun by Spain (which are probably even stronger than when they won WC) and struggled for many periods vs Italy as well.
  7. Portugal with a late equaliser vs Italy so they stay alive until the last group match.
  8. Belgium scored twice vs Spain but this means Spain didn't back off in the second half like vs Portugal. And they've scored SIX times
  9. Amanda Anisimova beats Linda Noskova in three sets in R4 and should make her Top 10 debut after Wimbledon (currently up to #8 in the live rankings).
  10. Hell freezes over as Nico Hulkenberg has finished on the podium!
  11. France beat England 2-1. England didn't register a shot on goal until they scored in the 87th minute.
  12. Wales getting steamrolled by Netherlands. Parking the bus worked for 40 mins but now it's getting ugly. 3-0 after 56 mins and probably more to come.
  13. Giulia Gwinn has been ruled out for remainder of the tournament with knee ligaments strain (initially feared to be another torn ACL). Her left knee got stuck in the turf when she tackle-blocked Ewa Pajor's shot late in the first half.
  14. Solana Sierra vs Laura Siegemund for a place in Wimbledon QF. That's basically Rabat 250 Round 1 match and the prize will be a very probable clash vs Aryna Sabalenka
  15. Germany won 2-0. No embarrassement for Poland who even had some chances in the first half.
  16. It seems like Spain basically had an extended practice vs Portugal. And with Cata Coll apparently not #1 GK chances of them conceding a cheap goal has decreased. Okay, Germany vs Poland in 12 hours time. Hopefully we don't get embarrassed too much
  17. Round 2 isn't completed yet and Sabalenka is the only Top 5 seed left on the WTA side Solana Sierra beat Katie Boulter in three sets and has basically guaranteed herself Main Draw for US Open.
  18. Well, Poland's goal should be actually scoring a goal in the group stage. First match vs Germany on Friday. The only good news is Germany might take this easy and save as much energy for the later games
  19. Coco Gauff bounced by Dayana Yastremska in two sets in R1. At this rate probable Alexandrova vs Wang Xinyu R3 winner could make the final from the bottom half
  20. Does Argentina still have the crazy average system that means nobody knows how the promotion/relegation even works?
  21. Yup, this is as bad as it gets hehe. Btw, what's the deal with Argentine clubs? Brazil has a greater number of teams who can win domestically or continental cups but in Argentina it always seems like Boca and River have little competition (except for Independiente's historical spikes and I believe Estudiantes La Plata used to be relevant but I have no clue how they are doing these days, lol). And I remember Argentinos Jr won the Libertadores once but that was a surprise?
  22. Ah, classic drug for horses & cattle. No way she goes to next WOG then.
  23. Petra Kvitova (tennis) announced she will retire after US Open.
  24. made nine changes in the line-up and still beat 4-1. Pathetic to the extreme. Manager Adam Majewski should be fired ASAP and they extended his contract before this tournament. The next generation is hopeless...
  25. Meanwhile in Poland the search continues and the FA boss Kulesza is visiting the Club World Cup where Maciej Skorża is with the Urawa Red Diamonds. Alas Skorża himself once said he doesn't like being NT manager due to very little time spend with the actual team compared to club coaching. It's been confirmed that some foreign coaches filed an application - Carlos Queiroz, Nenad Bjelica and... Gareth Southgate (like we could afford his salary ).
