  1. claim a famous 2-1 victory over at Wembley (and they had three other goals taken by VAR!) @Makedonas
  2. Aryna Sabalenka beat Yulia Putintseva in three sets to make Wuhan QF so she will assume WTA #1 on October 28th for at least two weeks while the year-end #1 will be decided at the YEC itself.
  3. The Rays ballpark got seriously damaged by hurricane Milton...
  4. Niels Hintermann has been diagnosed with lymphoma and will miss the season.
  5. The lower-ranked sister won
  6. Wuhan R2 and we get a family meeting in WTA again...
  7. All four Divisional Series are tied at 1-1 for the first time in MLB history (since 1995 when this format was first introduced).
  8. Well, even winning futsal would truly mean the Church of Maradona is real voodoo
  9. Vikings are 5-0 after beating Jets 23-17 in London. The other New York team is also looking shaky
  10. Dodgers fell 3-0 behind in the first inning to Padres but managed to win 7-5 in the first NLDS game. Phillies' bullpen collapsed vs Mets allowing 5 runs and one out in the 8th inning
  11. Iga Świątek has split with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.
  12. Chicago White Sox ended the season with 121 losses - most ever in modern MLB history (aka excluding the 1899 Cleveland Spiders). Jerry Reinsdorf has truly reached rock bottom with this one. Detroit Tigers sweep Houston Astros in AL Wild Card to open the post-season.
  13. One week after losing the Monastir final Rebecca Sramkova wins her maiden WTA title in Hua Hin by beating Laura Siegemund 6-4 6-4 in the final @hckošice
  14. Hosting Olympic Games isn't an honor anymore. The old fashioned bidding contests are dead. Democracies are no longer willing to spend money on the "show" unlike the Middle East gulf moguls plus China. It is what it is. Professional sports is business now and it has to invest money from somewhere to make a profit later. We can mock how NBC dictates the swimming programme with finals in the morning local time but that also falls into "authoritarian" style of organzing these Games. And it will only get worse as the big pockets will only have more influence going forward. There will come a time when Bach won't be viewed as the worst anymore because just when you think it can't get any worse, it can and probably will
  15. One season plus two games and it's over. Bryce Young will go down as one of the worst #1 overall picks in NFL history and the trade for that #1 pick gives it a good run for the Herschel Walker worst trade crown as well. Red Rifle is back on!
  16. Vikings' season might not be toast with QB2!
  17. Yeah, it's officially the biggest flooding in Poland since 1997 (I'm old enough to remember that one tough I don't live in the Lower Silesia region but in the nearby Upper Silesia).
  18. Chicago White Sox need to win 10 of their last 15 games to avoid beating the modern MLB record of 120 losses in a season (set by New York Mets in 1962)
  19. Week 2 has started on Thursday and Buffalo Bills beat Miami Dolphins 31-10 while Dolphins QB Tua Tagliovaoa suffered another concussion. It's safe to say the Dolphins hype based on beating bad teams should finally calm down and it's anyone's guess how long Tua plays since concussions were his main red flag since 2022 already.
  20. Former Panthers Wrocław (as in Wrocław, Poland) WR Kavontae Turpin still making plays in the NFL
  21. beat 1-0 in Osijek. The score should have been like 4-0. Matanovic missed a couple of clear chances, someone like Mandzukic would have scored a brace at least We got dominated so much even our media said it's telling that "over the hill" Modric looked like prime Modric again.
  22. Aryna Sabalenka wins her second Grand Slam of the season and beats Jessica Pegula 7-5 7-5 in the women's final. Pegula won five games in a row in the second set but still collapsed in true Buffalo Bills fashion
  23. Paul Goldsmith passed away at the age of 98. The oldest living Indianapolis 500 starter and the last living driver from the period when this race counted towards Formula 1 World Championship.
  24. Eagles beat the Packers 34-29 in Sao Paulo. That was a good game
  25. Jannik Sinner vs Taylor Fritz is the men's final. The latter came from 1-2 sets down to beat Tiafoe.
