  1. WTA is a total crapshoot these days. Every Grand Slam has total random names making the final. Might as well bet on Danielle Collins vs Darya Kasatkina in the AO 2022 final.
  2. Buccaneers beat Cowboys 31-29. Some bad turnovers by the Tampa offense made the score closer than it should have been.
  3. It is destiny then, Fernandez vs Raducanu US Open final. Nobody would see this coming two weeks ago. Far & away the most unexpected women's Grand Slam final in my lifetime
  4. Her parents' job was the only thing that tied them to Canada? So that wasn't all that much.
  5. Yankees won 13 straight (their longest winning steak since 1985) and then went 2-10 in the next twelve games
  6. Sakkari getting abused out there. This is heading into all-teenage final (would be first such GS final since Hingis vs V.Williams in 1999 IIRC).
  7. Regular season starts in 4,5 hours with Buccaneers vs Cowboys. Should be a straight-forward TB victory
  8. World Cup every two years is bullshit. And since clubs have a hard time releasing players for international duty UEFA would find it easy to get their support in this case.
  9. Poland only has left to play among CONMEBOL members. We did play and once (1998 & 2018 respectively). We also played twice in 1977.
  10. I didn't see that result coming! Szymanski only came on since Krychowiak (who else?) was on a yellow card again
  11. Poland vs England is about to kick-off. As usual we got the annual repeat of the October 1973 WC qualifier earlier today. I'll be amazed if we keep the score at 0-2 at best
  12. Time for Jo Konta to change nationalities again. Raducanu is the new black in UK for the next 15 years
  13. Things happening fast now, Alexander Albon confirmed at Williams for 2022 (one-year deal).
  14. Oh well, thankfully only one of the Fernandez/Raducanu overhyped teenagers can win it. Sabalenka and Pliskova must really fancy their chances though.
  15. Sakkari has choked some big wins before, she is a fighter because her physical frame prevents her from finding success otherwise. And she's fortunate Andreescu is a physical mess these days, cramping every other tournament or handing walkovers outright.
  16. I was still watching motor racing, tennis and football (soccer) games NFL season kicks off on Thursday too. But yeah, this place was in a small post-Olympics hangover the last couple of weeks. Things should be back to normal soon.
  17. It was NID. Andreescu should have been out of the tournament if only Golubic didn't choke.
  18. It's official. Bottas to Alfa Romeo. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/bottas-to-drive-for-alfa-romeo-f1-team-in-2022/6661654/
  19. Carlos Alcaraz beat Peter Gojowczyk in five sets and is the youngest man to reach any GS QF since Michael Chang in RG 1989. Aryna Sabalenka brushed past erstwhile doubles partner Elise Mertens 64 61.
  20. If you like long rallies just wait until Svitolina brings the grinder in QF I grew up in the serve & volley and rebound ace era. Anything beyond 7 shots makes me upset
  21. Not really. Kerber has run out of gas.
  22. The over the top celebrations are annoying. Fernandez hasn't even won the match yet.
  23. Poland wins 7-1 but it looked mediocre at least. Buksa from NE Revolution might have eleveated himself to #2 striker this fall.
  24. Poland leads 5-1 after 68 mins but San Marino scored after a massive error from our defense. We are only the 4th(!) NT ever who conceded more than one goal vs San Marino in all matches combined. Like rybak said, they only scored 26 goals in official matches. We joined Belgium, Liechtenstein and Malta in this elusive club This was the first goal back in 2013: The second goal today:
  25. Good result for Poland as Albania beat Hungary 1-0. Given how Albania controlled the play vs Poland the other day it's not a surprising result at all. Meanwhile Lewandowski scores after 5 mins vs San Marino. That's his 71st goal for NT which ties Miroslav Klose's mark for Germany. We sure ain't resting Lewandowski for the England game since he can score a few tonight
