  1. Four months later and it looks like Jax will suck major ass again. OL is terrible based on preseason action and Etienne is basically out for the year with a foot injury. New England Patriots have cut QB Cam Newton today which means Mac Jones will be the starter.
  2. Turkey easily manhandles Poland which was predictable. Could be the last match for coach Nawrocki (long overdue to get rid of him).
  3. Paula Badosa beats Alison van Uytvanck 6-4 6-3. At least one of my favs is thru into R2
  4. Look, these morons try to look good by saying the bad weather wasn't to be detected on the radar and they couldn't call it off right away but tried to wait out to see if it gets better. You should learn to NEVER trust what FIA officials have to say. Or Liberty Group. Just because Bernie Ecclestone is gone it doesn't mean his style of F1 governance is gone. It's not. Norris' crash was caused by him not lifting early enough into the corner. It was a driver error caused by his lack of respect to the corner & weather conditions. 30 years ago F1 drivers downshifted when approaching Eau Rogue, now everyone takes it flat out in the dry. It was bound to happen one of the video game era drivers like Norris would make an error like that. Not the old-timers like Alonso or Raikkonen.
  5. [hide] Knockout Round August 28th - August 31st, 2021 Third-Place Match Date & Time (GMT -6) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 August 31st 2021, h. 13:30 Finland 5 Switzerland Final Date & Time (GMT -6) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 August 31st 2021, h. 17:30 Canada 3 United States [/hide]
  6. The formation lap is mandatory in F1 since 1978 (when Bernie Ecclestone became FOCA CEO).
  7. You mean races that were called off when teams were on the premises already? Only last year's Australian Grand Prix due to COVID. 1980 Spanish Grand Prix was denied official World Championship status the day AFTER it took place due to the infamous FISA-FOCA power struggle. 1985 Belgian Grand Prix was postponed by three months due to track breaking up in Friday practice. Every other official cancelled F1 race suffered this fate in advance (post-1955 Le Mans disaster, two rounds in 1957 due to Suez Canal crisis fuel shortage or 2011 Bahrain GP due to political unrest).
  8. Tsitsipas won 6-4 in the fifth.
  9. This is not America. Refunds are like the last thing on FIA's mind. Plus it will be the race organizers' job to handle IF refunds will even be available. It sure doesn't help the Spa track director was murdered two weeks ago after her husband discovered she had a lesbian affair and killed her There are no points for qualifying in F1 (save for the sprint race nonsense). Nobody deserved anything since those aren't the rules. And you can't possibly react post-factum to make the shitshow look better.
  10. They already said they can't postpone it to Mondays. It's their stupid ego that always gets in the way. Anyway, the race should have been called off alltogether. The podium ceremony was totally cringeworthy. Most die-hard fans are upset this bullshit was called an official Grand Prix. I'd be fine if it was cancelled. Now the big wigs say it was a farce and want to rule changes. Yeah, right. I don't trust FIA in finding any solutions. They will always fall for the money. Tell that to people who bought tickets and stood five hours in the rain. But they won't. FIA only cares about those mythical "new fans" posting tiktok videos and other social media crap. How many fans did they win with this two lap safety car drill? I'd say big fat ZERO.
  11. Halep was too good on serve in the end. Giorgi reverted to old school bashing errors in the TB. Elsewhere it's a mess with withdrawals (obviously only after the play has started, blah). Ostapenko, Brady and Konta are all OUT and replaced by LL.
  12. Poland lost the first set to Ukraine 21-25 Still, no need to panic...
  13. Neah, we've seen bigger crashes at Eau Rouge before. FIA is too scared of rain ever since Jules Bianchi's death. Today's "race" was a total farce. Worst Grand Prix in F1 history. Even 2005 US GP was better than this crap.
  14. [hide] Knockout Round August 28th - August 31st, 2021 4 Nations, The Winners of each Semifinal will qualify for the Final and the Losers of each Semifinal will play the Third-Place Match Semifinals Date & Time (GMT -6) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 August 30th 2021, h. 13:00 United States 4 Finland August 30th 2021, h. 17:00 Canada 5 Switzerland [/hide]
  15. How in the world Sweden beat Bulgaria? This is some major shit right there. I've never watched a single volleyball game featuring Sweden (or even a single Swedish player) in my life
  16. Six car pile-up in W Series qualifying at Spa. Beitske Visser still to have X-rays on her leg (the car that went upside down). Other involved were Sarah Moore (who started it by crashing out first), Ayla Agren, Abbie Eaton, Belen Garcia and Fabienne Wohlwend. Once again Eau Rouge reminds everyone of its fearsome reputation. Sadly modern cars try to go there flat out and sometimes it goes awry.

  18. crashed out in QF? That must be a mild surprise.
  19. Early candidate for goal of the season in Polish Ekstraklasa from the weekend (Yaw Yeboah - Wisla Krakow). This even made it onto the FIFA official twitter account. Admittedly Gornik Leczna looks like the worst team in the league after five games.
  20. Well, Polish ultras have a bad reputation and I'm sure the Czechs know that. The stadium clashes are nowhere near as bad as they were in the 90s but whenever a foreign team comes to play here it *might* be trouble. Just last week some Legia Warsaw "fans" made news when they mugged a 12-year old kid & his grandfather who were fans of another league team when their car broke down on the highway. I won't be surprised if Slavia people have heard about this story Most fans over here in general represent the patriotic/nationalistic view "God, honor, country etc." Warsaw is the most liberal city in Poland BUT every rule has its exception and football hooligans are just that indeed.
  21. Ahead of the Round 4 qualifying second leg game between Legia Warsaw vs Slavia Prague the Czech club issued a note to its fans about not wearing club colors and not insulting God & the pope while hanging around Warsaw @hckoĆĄice
  22. I do wonder if Elvira Oeberg is set to break out as a reliable podium threat and race winner next season? Two Oeberg sisters in Top 5 WC overall next season?
  23. Sheesh. That's so 1960s/70s BS. Don't tell me she can't make more money being an elite moguls athlete. The sport itself isn't exactly loaded with new talent every season so she could have been a Top 10 athlete and medal contender for many years. Very strange.
  24. Today's result from Sweden (women's roller ski national champs sprint). Maybe there is some hope for the cross country convert?
