  1. Malwina Smarzek-Godek hasn't been called up for the second half of the season which means she will probably miss this tournament.
  2. beat 3-2 in the final. beat 3-0 for the bronze medal.
  3. Sadly no, I live too far away from Warsaw to even consider that. I attended Katowice between 2013-16 before.
  4. And we're off in Warsaw. After some early R1 results we're set for South American derby in R2: Nadia Podoroska vs Laura Pigossi
  5. Kamil Stoch & Nika Kriznar win the second competition. @hckošice Tamara Mesikova improved to 17th place on day two. Due to one DSQ and Kinga Rajda's terrible landing two Delia Anamaria Folea & Alessia Mitu-Cosca have guaranteed themselves eternal right to enter in winter World Cup competition which they previously didn't have.
  6. I'm waiting for a time when using the word "sustainable" in every other frickin' press release will be unsustainable. This excuse is getting hilarious I guess the new generation will come up with some new words to promote so it's only a matter of time - as always.
  7. This is insane. So some athletes will have to run an extra race - like 1,500 meters even? They will be dead tired and complete non-factors come the SF or Final if they actually make it. Athletes are rested for 400 meters with the relays on the schedule and now they will be forced to run extra race if they don't get automatic spot? Yeah, I can see more DNS in repechages. This is an idea that profits top-heavy nations, USA (duh), East Africa in 800/1500 but that is about it. PS. Like mentioned, we'll see people walking off track if they can no longer qualify by place in the heats. The juice won't be worth the squeeze. Hell, some outsiders will walk right off after 100 meters in heats and focus on the repechage already most likely. I'm amazed how WA is trying to fix something that isn't broken
  8. Speaking of that, Tomasz Majewski said the Daniel Stahl's no mark on the throw that would have been good enough for bronze was overstepped by 4 milimeters. Apparently Americans had such cameras that it was possible to determine such a small foul.
  9. [hide] Knockout Stage July 20th - July 31st, 2022 4 Nations, the Winners of each Semifinals will qualify for the Final. Semifinals Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 July 26th 2022, h. 20:00 England 2 0 Sweden July 27th 2022, h. 20:00 Germany 2 1 France [/hide]
  10. A somewhat underwhelming championships for Four medals including two which nobody really expected from Zdzieblo which artificially boosted the impression value. We still rule the men's hammer but cons outnumber the pros otherwise: Positives: healthy Ennaoui gets 5th place which pretty was in her ceiling on a global stage, Sułek beats 37 year old heptathlon NR and Skrzyszowska =PB which was lost amid insane 100H level. Negatives: No athletes in M shot put and W hammer throw. Swoboda just can't run under 11 secs outdoors. Missing W 4x400 relay final is criminal. Meh: Male pole vaulters are getting old, Andrejczyk can't stay healthy more than one season over a 4-year span (watch her struggle in 2023 again). Facts: Polish discus and high jump is more or less AWOL. It's not as bad as the women's PV post-Rogowska & Pyrek but it's getting there. See ya in Munich next month!
  11. Well, that was a boring 4x400 women's final. Canada signs off with a 4th place
  12. Stano wins, Kawano second and Karlstrom third again.
  13. Under 2 kms left and it's down to Stano and Kawano.
  14. Matsunaga is cooked. Nice running from him but to no avail.
  15. Matsunaga with the early break in 35km walk.
  16. In 400 hurdles everyone runs in the middle of the lane anyway so the disadvantage of Lane 1 is smaller than in the flat 400m. And then of course we have Marita Koch's 400m WR set from Lane 2
  17. That post aged worse than an open bottle of milk in tropical heat
  18. beats in women's 4x100! Shock! Terrible changes from Jamaica. Asher-Smith got injured on her leg so gets bronze.
  19. The Polish 4x400 appeal has been rejected (duh!).
  20. Damian Warner injured in decathlon 400m!
  21. Anderson Peters 90.21 in first Javelin attempt!
  22. has filed a protest against in the women's 4x400 due to Holub being spiked on the foot
