  1. After the highs of women wrestling it's to the lows of men's wrestling. Can we qualify a single male wrestler or not
  2. Massive day in Indian Women's Wrestling!!! win their 5th Quota and will send their biggest women's wrestling team to Olympics. The bigger news is that after 16 months of protests, struggle, and criticism to women wrestlers who demanded the arrest of the then WFI President, Brij Bhushan has finally paid off. The former WFI President has been charged with molestation and sexual harrasment by the court of female wrestlers including minors. The protest was led by Vinesh Phogat, multiple world medallist, Bajrang Punia, 2020 Olympic bronze medalist and Sakshi Malik, India's first female Olympic medallist in wrestling. Truth prevails in the end.
  3. Final Qualifier having lots of upsets, Nikolova losing to and then Cuban leading in QF by a huge margin losing by fall at the end to was big in 57kg and faces in SF .we also lost Jong In Sun in same category. Wendle was unlucky in 53kg I felt. Top half in 76kg went against my expectations but yeah heavy wrestlers and most of them are close by in terms of levels. Rest almost all were according to plans. Nesrin Bas qualified for 62kg semis on own merit, she is a European medallist in 72kg earlier this year. Not an easy weight cut.
  4. The Asian Qualifiers being held less than 20 days ago can take a toll. It helps other continent wrestlers.
  5. Jong In Sun loses that's some result AG: She almost beat WC Sakurai losing 6-7 in final AOQ: Lead 8-0 before losing by fall WOQ: Not in best form, suffered an injury, lost.
  6. Yes and if she can beat her it's an easy half. Godinez looked good
  7. Women's Wrestling 50kg is the favourite in top half. can challenge but as seen at Asian OQ she gets tired towards end. Stadnik also lost in dying seconds at EOQ. could be a dark horse. Bottom half Genesis is favourite but Blayvas is good too. I go with 53: Very difficult to call. Orsus looked out of form in EOQ so I go with . Bottom half is complicated but I pickle Annika Wendle and Prevolarki. 57: Top half is hard should go through with as one to look out. Bottom half easy one for . 62. Very difficult top half Incze is the best wrestler in the field and should go through. are also in the same half but I predict to go through (a little bias). should go through in bottom half with wrestler with some chance though weight cut will be her issue. 68 Two good wrestlers Hristova and Zhou are in same half at bottom both should go.Nisha is the best in the top half with able to challenge her. 76 Syzdykova and Axente are good in the former and I expect both to qualify. takes on in 1st match winner of this will win quota probably and the other has chance through Repechage I prefer the former to win quota directly.
  8. Linda Morais is good but having a bad draw in 68kg with Hristova and Feng in same half
  9. Qualifies with a match left against the weakest opponent in the field
  10. Most of these wrestlers are from Haryana where surnames are not written in Passports or official purposes. Those with Surnames are from other Indian states though the trend is changing. If you see double names you can definitely say that he or she is from Haryana
  11. Draws have been released https://arena.uww.org/weight-category/1eef6f73-073e-67fe-ad74-231b2e1b0fdb
  12. Completed re watching the session. I'd remember it for those Liberian singlets, that's unique and wierd. Qualifying both relays is good overall. I expected 2 or even 3 if we qualified the Women on Day 1 and the Men improve. Good thing is that we qualified so lot of time to peak properly. I expected us to DNS in Mixed to focus on both the relays which worked. With our best female relay runner, Vithya out of form I expect us to get a better time. Also Jyotika was excellent on her senior debut. Sub 3:26 here would have been cool but that's ok it can now be saved for Olympics and with quotas secured there would be a tight competition for entry into the Indian team. Feel bad for Mexico maybe if they qualified today we would get ranking quota, but not a sureity though. I would go with Anas-Tom-Ajmal-Jacob with Rajiv as alternate unless Rajesh returns. Overall good tournament.
  13. Women's TT Olympic Probables Sun Yingsha lost 1-3 to Ayika Mukherjee Wang Manyu lost 1-3 to Manika Batra Wang Yidi lost 0-3 to Sreeja Akula Cheng Xingtong lost 3-4 to Manika Batra Cheng Meng - Yet to be beaten Women's Team is slowly coming as a serious contender. No other team in the world have such record against
  14. Is this a random draw with today's time not considered?
  15. Mixed Relay starting immediately after Men's and Women's relay on Day 2 which means teams have to prioritise the events.
  16. Yes On Facebook. Fijian Coach posted about 2 Fijians qualifying few days ago while PNG Taekwondo confirmed the same.
  17. Qualify their first ever team sport for Olympics
  18. I know some of the wrestlers but some are either very new or some not even half as good as those wrestled at Bishkek
  19. has replaced every single wrestler that failed to get quota with a new one. @Vic Liu what is the chinese selection policy will there be Olympic trials again?
