Looks like our Argentinian friends have lived long enough to see Messi win one for the NT :cheer:

I still remember the previous triumph, the Batistuta & Redondo generation ;)

I'm 13 days older than you, so that probably makes me the oldest person in this forum, I guess?

This morning Facebook reminded me that 5 years ago Ronaldo also wins his first and last till now continental title. So 10th of July seems to be historical date

Maybe not many old-timers here but I remember Batistuta playing for Fiorentina :p I don't remember much from 1986 World Cup (still had some fancy stickers from that) but 1990 World Cup was the first one I watched in full. Not exactly what Argentina wants to remember though ;)

Oh man! I watched the WC in 1990. Goycochea and Caniggia was my favorite players!

In one way I’m sad that Brazil didn’t won because I also cheer for them (Portuguese speaking brothers, our “país irmão”), but in the other hand it’s good to see finally Messi win a trophy with Argentina:d

It’s nice to see the two best of their time winning all the trophies and it would be really unfair if Messi didn’t ended up having a NT title like Ronaldo.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
