If you ask for norceca it's number of wins > points standing > point ratio > set ratio > result between the tied teams.

Thanks that means is out. Nvm. If Canada wins next two sets, and DR beats PUR 3-1 tomorrow, with Canada needing to beat Mex 3-0, then Canada would advance. No.1 seed for Host Country is so not fair for World No.1 & 2 and other countries with them. I think China and USA don't care about it too much, but Russia, Italy and Turkey must struggling with this grouping.

They are very weak at the moment and were very lucky with the grouping for the OQT.
Monzanator 3,600 Posted January 13, 2020 #108 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Classic seeding BS case, everyone wants to be in the host Japan's group. It will look even more ridiculous in the men's tournament.
Maxim Fastovsky 124 Posted January 13, 2020 #109 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Such an fivb only bs. Who seeds the home team first in a 12 team field?? Especially in the mens tournament where Japan never got to anything special. Does someone remember If same bs happened in London 2012?

Back then two highest men seeds (Brazil, Russia) were in the same group with #3 (Italy) & #4 (Poland) were in the GBR group. Same in the women's (USA, Brazil together while Japan & Italy in the GBR group). The last non-serpentine global volleyball tournaments were the 2010 World Championships (both men & women).
