Just one doubt I had with Mixed doubles qualification. China has won the quota in World tour. Will they be allowed to participate in Asian championship. This is because in this document continental qualification comes first. It is also written as Competition events are written in Heirarchical order.

Yes, they can (and really should). But I kind of doubt they will. :dunno:

  • 3 weeks later...

Table Tennis Ranking for January has dropped. The rankings will decide the seeds for Team qualifiers in the end of the month.

In this I have also attached the PDF about the competition and there you can see how teams are drawn.

In mixed doubles i have a doubt important. The continental have priority but the majority are vying for when you have already been assigned seats through the final World Tour 2019, or world tour 2020 Platinum. If the countries that earn the continental in mixed doubles had already obtained plaza the world tour . Who would be allocated those vacancies?

Another question. The world tour of Magdeburg provides platinum 2 Olympic spots mixed in for the 2 finalists but participating countries already provisionally classified through the final World Tour 2019. What happens if one of these countries arrive at the end?

.Moreover, the places of the final world tour are provisional as the undisputed continental still have priority

My dear friend, don't worry. You will not get the answer because no one knows properly. Maybe it can be cleared by ITTF. I don't think the social media accounts of ITTF is also a good option

A very easy solution for all questions is: "they are unused quotas to be allocated through Olympic Ranking Lists". No idea if ITTF will agree, however

This will only occur if China participate. Or any Asian countries who has a quota participate. As the record states they may re-allocate using ranking or as Japan open is later than Asian qualification, they may increase the quota available to 2.

Una solución muy fácil para todas las preguntas es: "son cuotas no utilizadas que se asignarán a través de las listas de clasificación olímpica". Sin embargo, no tengo idea si la ITTF estará de acuerdo

I agree

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
