The qualification system says that there are 6-7 qualifiation matches.

For these matches are qualified: 2 teams from the pro-league-final, 2 teams of the world ranking and:

Zitat

"The two (2) highest placed teams in each of the three Hockey Series Finals 2019"

But my questions is what are the three Hockey Series Finals?

it's a second tier tournament for those teams who don't take part into the hockey pro league (basically it's the old world league without the top teams)...

In the Hockey Series all countries can participate, except those who dispute the Hockey Proleague. The 1st round in 2018 do not play the 9 teams with better rankings for those enrolled in the Open Series

The 2nd round are 3 regional events with 8 teams each of these 8 teams, 3 would be exempted from the 1st round due to its ranking and 5 from the 1st round.

The first 2 of each regional event classified for the Olympic Qualification Events (in total 6)

If Japan did not earn the Asian continental 12 teams participate in the Olympic Qualification Events: 4 teams from the pro-league-final, +6 Hockey Series +  2 teams of the world ranking. Then there would be  6 qualifiation matches in in the Olympic Qualification Events

If Japan  earn the Asian continental 14 teams participate in the Olympic Qualification Events: 4 teams from the pro-league-final, +6 Hockey Series +  4 teams of the world ranking Then there would be  7 qualifiation matches in in the Olympic Qualification Events

If I get it right (and assuming that only Australia and one of the european Pro League teams will qualifie from their respective contintental championship), three teams from the Pro League will no take part in the OQT ? If so, it's a blessing for second tier countries like France, but also very iodiotic.

You have to consider that 2 more teams qualify to the OQT by ranking, and they will most likely be Pro League teams.

    • Does the CAS have the authority to address from someone who believes the judges made a mistake in a given discipline? Pizzolato's last attempt at Paris 2024, which earned him the bronze medal, was controversial, but what does the CAS have to do with it? Even if the judges made a mistake then, the result won't change and this isn't the only case where someone feels wronged with this in world of sports. Unless, of course, they have some evidence of corruption or something like that
    • If Pizzolato will to return, would it be to the 86 kg category, or the 94 kg category, like Nasar? In 2024, they were both in the 89 kg category, which will no longer be at the Olympics, but in 2021 in Tokyo, Pizzolato won a medal in the 81 kg category.   Of course, it's unclear what's going on with the rape accusations- personally, unfortunately, I don't think he was ever a sweet angel- he was accused of other immoral things also 10 years ago, but gang rape? I find that hard to believe... Besides, Moldova has appealed about his bronze medal from Paris 2024 to the CAS- the verdict was supposed to be in February. Do you know anything about this? Did they have any grounds for this lawsuit at all?
    • Ukraine won 6 gold medals out of 10 in the women's competotion  + 1 silver and 1 bronze. Where do they get these girls from? It's always been a strong country, but they have never dominated like this. I wonder if their training methods would work in another country and if their coaches have any offerts to job from other countries? However, there is a significant decline in women's judo in Ukraine, so maybe they have directed all their resources and money towards wrestling?
    • Sablikova started on the road cycling and just almost qualified for Rio 2016. Maybe Lollobrigida would like to join the Italian track team? She has the good character and 2 medals at the Olympics, one in winter and one in summer, would be a legendary achievement, not only in Italy.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Sáblíková
    • One Wiebes is worth more than the all Italian team with Balsamo/Fidanza, etc., that much clear. Even if the Netherlands loses its dominance in the men's sprint, Wiebes will win 2-3 gold medals in other events. Just relax, man.
    • I'm most worried about our women's team in the pursuit – we have a reserve squad, but not advancing to the top 8 is a shame. We recently competed with out 1 team and had not good in 1 round. It doesn't look good. And the Netherlands are already taking Wiebes to the track team and will soon dominate the Madison/Omnium as well. Balsamo and Paternoster haven't made any progress for years and the our women's team at the Olympics has little chance to win a medal. Italy might even win World Championship/European Championship gold in the years after the Olympics, etc., but when the real fight comes, the UK or the USA will always beat us
    • Track cycling is one of the few sports where there is no host nation quota, so  will need to work hard to achieve our quotas.  It's not our best sport, but was happy to see Top 10 results in the Elimination Race for Grant Koontz and Emma Jimenez Palos (who is just 18!).
    • Yes, I saw the same thing you did @clemsonbeav (on both accounts) but I agree it looks pretty stock.
    • Also, I just logged back into my account, where it sent me to update my profile, and when I saved that, I got a screen that included a check mark next to 'Registered for the Draw'.  Not sure I totally trust it, but it does at least say so.  (There's nothing specifically referencing Drop 2 or anything...might just be a stock screen.). I'm curious what it would look like if you looked at it @esube.  https://tickets.la28.org/
