Yes. The 4th team member is a substitute, I think we usually don't count them for the athlete quotas.

that's what seemed to me, because on wikipedia they add the 4th quota !! will there be tripartites?

in foil women's for the European quota, the German Ebert has a large lead and seems to be qualified! on the other hand for the second quota it will be between poland, spain and israel.

among men, great britain and spain have a great lead, and difficult to relocate

Ebert is not yet mathematically qualified, but she can only be caught by her teammate Anne Sauer. Meaning it is a quota place for Germany, it's just not sure for which fencer exactly.

So do I, and it more than likely will be here. I think Sauer needs to win the tournament and Ebert to finish badly for Sauer to catch her.

Women and Men's Epee Qualification Tables updated as of March 24th, 2021*

*I updated the tables according to our calculations here on this forum, but the FIE official qualification page has another outcome (imho, completely wrong, not updated with the last results yet), despite the rankings look correct...:mumble:

Therefore, for now let's mark these Epee tables as "subject to change", just in case we are wrong and FIE right...

I think FIE Rankings are correct, but their qualification lists are written under the assumption that something can still change, since they will decide the qualifiers based on rankings of April 5 and only then everything will be official. But I think the list you updated here (and the one in the Tracker) is how it is going to be

yes, FIE rankings are OK, it's the qualification recap that's wrong (and it can't change, as there are no more events to be played until the next Olympic Games, except for the last Foil Individual GP)...;)

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
